Pay Attention To Your EMAILS

Okay, I have to be signed up to almost all the 'gurus' lists for one reason and one reason only. To SWIPE their emails, and I just go something cool today from a Forex Marketer... Well he's an internet marketing GURU, but he's also in the Forex Market. I'm not going to release his name.

Anyhow, I got an email from him which sounded a bit 'different', so I clicked on it.

It just so happens, that this guru is having what's called a 'SCRATCH N DENT' sale. Supposedly his fulfillment company had a bit of 'road rage' and few boxes were damaged.

Of course it was only the boxes that got damaged. There was no harm done to the product itself .

After that you click on this special page where he's offering his products at 25% off. And you have to wait for another email, notifying you when the 'buy now' links go live.

I swiped the email and was going to share it here, but I don't want to get in trouble by the mods...

Moral of the story is be creative when your having a sale. It can be about anything.

Here's some examples:

Just got married
birthday sale
car accident
left over products laying around
IRS
your pipes burst
you kids first day at school
anniversary

Got the idea now? - just be creative.

I think the Dead Sea scrolls were first sold using that pitch

There are precious few, if any, new sales techniques - just slight variations on tried and tested formulae.

If they're true. Making up excuses for special offers is a short cut to No-Cred City, IMO.

There are more than enough genuine events (birthdays, anniversaries, Public Holidays etc.) to hang a promotion on. You can still be creative with your promotion without needing to fabricate a story.

I wasn't saying to fabricate a story at all. I was simply stating that you can take any event (in the real world) and turn that into a legitimate reason to host a sale.

Of course you wouldn't want to do it every month

      Thanks for the input.

Actually that is similar to the "fire sale" method that was used a lot back in 2006/2007 from well known marketer Mike Filsaime. It included a great story that revealed limited quantities of damaged goods or overstock items that were of great perceived value. Worked great then and probably would still work today.

I actually remember that. I am very familiar with the "my pipes burst" sale because Howie Schwartz actually did a sale revolving around that a couple years back.

It was pretty funny, but very unique... I never saw a sale like that before.

Then you have Jeff walker and his IRS sale. Frank Kern and his "Thank You" sale.

We just have to be unique that's all.

          Best Regards,
          Anthony

Remember Yanik Silver's "clean my closet of my sales letter ebook program, or else my wife is divorcing me" pitch? I was laughing on the floor

Retail does the same thing - has a sale on 'damaged', overstocked etc...right before the new model hits the shelves!

Haha interesting but don't you waste a lot of time opening hundreds of emails daily? Thanks for the tips though. I know I'm having issues selling to my list

    Anthony,

You want some good ones? Subscribe to Howie Schwartz's newsletter. lol
Some of them are hilarious, and he goes all out with them, too. It's to the
point where I read them and just laugh. Ok, Howie's got something on sale,
    again.

      Great, will do.

I don't know about you, but the funniest people I've ever seen was Frank Kern and Bob Serling both at the same time for an interview.

Man those guys crack me up, they make funny of each other and every other guru out there, and they still deliver great content at the same time. Amazing.
