I think you may get some great answers to this question by posting it on an IT/Tech/Programming forum such as Tek-tips.com. I've been a member there for quite a few years and have gotten great information.

But to answer your question: check out Website Design Tutorials -- they have a pretty cool tutorials there.

    Hope this helps.

Go to Amazon and search for Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML.

It'll give you a good introduction to web page design and construction. The Head First book series is generally excellent. The books are very easy to understand.

yep W3Schools are good , unfortunatly i didnt heared of them at the time when i started, so i learned all by myself... and i am glad i did that because you learn more that they tell you in a tutorial... but i dont recommend that since it will take you a lot of time

    Hello Dear,

You should start learning HTML first. You can learn it with in 2-4 days. Then learn CSS. You can go to some free resources or purchase any ebook for this task if you like. If you are willing to purchase go to this site.

Master Tutorials Online provide free CSS tutorials

Next you should learn working with images and this can do it by the knowledge of Photoshop. Please PM me if you have anymore questions.

    Thank You

These are all good sites mentioned, but many are not exactly geared toward complete beginners. You want to start with the basics. Search Google for something like "html in plain english" and you'll find simple tutorials designed especially for beginners. I should know, one of my sites ranks number one.

The above recommendations, all are good. Let me share how I learn...I bought a "For Dummies" book on those topic, read them. If I need to watch video to get a hang of it, I just "Youtube" them up. Easy!

First of all, learn the basic HTML tags by going to w3schools.org. Once you are familiar with HTML and know it off by heart (will only take you approx 4 days) learn CSS.

I highly recommend "Beginning CSS" by Simon Colison. Search Amazon for "Beginning CSS" and buy it. I absolutely swear by it. CSS styles your HTML web page and keeps the styling in a seperate file instead of clogging up your HTML and decreasing SEO efficiency.

Once you have HTML and CSS locked down. Go onto Javascript and PHP/MySQL. These languages will take years to master and must only be learned once you have HTML and CSS otherwise you will be way out of your depth.

    Just my opinion.

You can learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript from W3School for first.
Then go and learn PHP from the main website and MySQL from W3School.
    Good luck!

Are you looking for an actual course which gives you a certificate so you can work in Web Design stores? If so try typing "web design course state" into Google or where ever you live.

Learning PHP and photoshop is a plus too. If you're in Australia there are a few online courses approved by the Government.

    Don't do it!
If you care for your sanity just walk away from the computer...now...and don't look back.

Otherwise pick any of the excellent suggestions above and jump right in. Best way to learn it is to get your hands dirty fast.
