many gurus said .info does not rank well for a reason i have no clue about it , but you can get .co now

another solution you may wanna add the "e" letter to the beginning of your domain name example eyourdomainname.com this way your domain keyword will not get effected much

You're going to get as many different views as people that reply.
Yes there are some .info domains that do rank even in the finance niche.

Personally I wouldn't try a .info but would make up for the loss of keywords in the domain with a few extra backlinks.

I ALWAYS use extensions in this order:

    1. com
    2. net
    3. org (sometimes I'll take org over net if it's a health niche)

Never info if I'm looking to rank. Having said that I do have a couple of info's that I only ever used as simple redirects with article marketing that have somehow made it onto the first pages of Yahoo. Bonus!

    Regards,
    Caiden

.info works great for me. Last week I had several $6+ AdSense clicks on my .info site.

I really hope the .info being rubbish urban myth is soon laid to rest.

    Google on the bolded terms...

This does beg the question, have you ever searched for info on Noam Chomsky? How about regular expressions, roman coins or craft ideas? Maybe you've never needed to do some research to find out if New York was a sanctuary city or to find out something about New York transit. Oh, and have you thought about moving your money to a local bank before you go shopping on Black Friday?

I don't see why it should be regarded as "unprofessional". It seems just right for an information website.

Whether Google likes it or not does seem open to debate but I personally have had trouble getting one particular .info site to number one in Google - I cannot unseat a .net site that is poorer but older.

The only URL ending that works for me is one that creates income. This should be make some sort of secret online code/mantra.
