Arr! Lightbox issues... - Care to shed some light?

Hey Warriors,

So I'm experimenting with Awebers light box feature.

For some reason if I scroll at all down and let the timer go for a few seconds then the lightbox pops up UNDER the fold. AND disables the scroll bar.

So... basically it locks up the browser and that is not so good from a usability standpoint.

They can't even SEE the lightbox.

Here's a pretty bad graphical representation. But it may help.

The only way around this I've found is to have the lightbox pop up immediately before anyone has a chance to scroll.

Anyone had this issue?

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks for your help!

I am having a problem with this too so I resigned to just putting a hover. I'd LOVE to know why this happens.

Whenever a visitor starts scrolling down before the light box pops up, it totally locks the browser.

    SO annoying

I guess not, I can't even find anything searching all over Google about it.

The closest I come to the same problem being discussed is the light box showing up under objects.

Im glad that you guys are talking about the Aweber lightbox because it is something I wanted to know about for quite a while. More specifically, how to customize it. I see some guys have boxes that dont have the ugly thick default gray beveled border like mine do, some have rounded corners and such and all types of funky tricks, like images, video, audio in theirs.

Can anyone tell me how i can go about customizing the lightbox with my own cool looking design? Using the html code is not the solution as it will not retain the lightbox functionality and that is mainly what I want. If anybody can help me out on this Id gladly appreciate it. Thanks.

Well, unless someone knows an alternate solution, it looks like we're out of luck.

Contacted Aweber, they said that the lightbox will always appear in the center of the page. (Vertically)

So if you have a long page then it will almost always mess up and show up below the fold.

And because it disables the scroll bar... the user is hosed.

      ========

      That being said...

Does anyone know a way to enable scrolling or to cause the lightbox to appear in the area of the page where the user is actually focused? (Instead of below or above?)

      Thanks for your help!
