Check out free Tarski theme. It is very simple and easy to work with.

You're right. The newest theme, called twentyten is really awesome for a default theme. Still there are more tweaked themes out there I recommend but this is a great start.

I have a developer's license for quite a few Woo themes. I love them. I have many others, but use Woo the most.

I've always been partial to the Studio Press stuff. I've seen lots of people suggest Thesis, but for me it does not get any better than what Brian put together with Studio press and with the Genesis framework now in place you can do a lot of customization without ever touching the code.

Completely agreed. I've made back the cost of the developer license 20x already creating websites.

I have been using Thesis for a year now and while it's really solid, there's a few annoying things about it. In order to get the most out of it though you really need to install Thesis OpenHook which makes very quick edits to the site a breeze.

The most important thing as a graphic designer using wordpress is that the code is clean, consistent and well-thought out. Thesis accomplishes this. It makes customization for my design-oriented project easier.

But if you're looking for an out-of-the-box platform made to be used for internet marketing then you're definitely better off with studio press.

I agree with the people here that recommends StudioPress and Woo themes. Another option could be Elegant themes. They all have nice themes for business consultancy. Iblogpro is also nice.
For me, Thesis is only useful for simple blogs. But if I have to use a Wordpress theme for a good looking website I won't use it.
    Thanks!
