  Reminds me of the guy who robbed a bank and had the teller deposit the money directly into his account. Then was completely flabbergasted when he got caught.

Did the comment that said "Hi. I posted on your site a few days ago and mistakenly clicked "Notify Me" and now I am getting hit with dozens of unwanted emails every day. Is there any way you can turn this off for me?" have a link attached to the name of the commenter?

In all likely hood that comment itself was probably also automated and an attempt to get a link from your blog.

No, no links (masked or otherwise). And I found her earlier post from Sunday in my trashcan, so I'm guessing this is her first (and probably last) foray into the exciting world of SPAM.

Pelt 'em! I get some of the most stupid spam comments ever. I got to the point where I turned comments off on many of my works just because there's no point and I get sick of moderating spam.

Probably not ... everyone knows that spammers are good spellers. I get some real literary geniuses posting, like Mr. Colon Cleanse and Mr. Cialis providing their words of wisdom for the world.
