How to make a squeeze page as sexy as possible?

Hi,
I have tried to use squeeze pages the opt in ratio is about 15% for me, I want to know if there are any factors, additions that can make the rate higher?
Also the source of traffic is very important, what sources are best for squeeze pages?

If you have a website I would suggest you to have a compelling headline with benefits, bullet points with benefits, a CLEAR call to action. And a good call to action button... Do A/B split testing with google optimizer... that's for starters

Important thing is the Theme, the colour used, as different colour has different impact on people. Example : Red, a very attractive colour.

This is so, so true. What works in one niche may not work in another. I am constantly amazed at this and have real trouble identifying any "rules". Keep split testing even after you think you have got it right. There is always room for improvement.

With a thread title like that I had to check it out.

    But first, what Alexa said.

Yes there are factors that can improve your conversion rate. You need
to run split tests. If you have enough traffic volume and money, you can
    do Taguchi multivariate testing.

    Factors to test:

Headline, with/without header, copy, copy location, video/no video, optin box copy
and design, bullets and location, landing page design, LP design vis a vis post optin
page design, optin box location, number of optin boxes.

    Things like that.

most important thing - the look of the squeeze page - if You want someone to opt in You need to look good and proffessional. If I would give my for example email address I would like to know that I didn't gave it to some "crappy spammer" who did his site in 10 minutes

I am not spamming here but for the purpose of illustration...Not to sell anything to anyone on this thread... Hope that is clear. This thread isn't even in my niche.

But if you want to see a real basic webpage that is making sales then check out my link.

Note: Paul I'm trying to help someone here not spam, I think I give enough free info, that you can trust my intentions.

But its a REAL example of the same type of web page that I have been making 20k deals off of for years now... and it's working this very day...

Now if I were going to do a site for a client it would be different but for me... I often take 5 minutes to throw up a link or something on a blank page... maybe a couple of headlines... and send my clients to them all the time for whatever purpose.

I may be asking to be attacked with criticism for saying this ... but you really can succeed even by the crudest means or beginnings if you are delivering something people want.

If you have a great page all the better. This one converts fine.

I am not asking to be critiqued on my web page which hasnt even been properly meta tagged at this point, cuz I dont need it for that..

I am am making a point here to maybe help some people who feel they cant start because they dont have some big website... I have literally sold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stuff off pages just like the one in my sig.

It's not optimized or anything... because it isnt for search engines... it's for the people I send to it for a specific purpose. The page will disappear when that purpose has been accomplished, and I will throw up another one for some other project Im doing...

Although I may keep this one and actually develop it later.

Hope this encourages somebody to go ahead and make a start.

I think opt-in ratio is not totally dependent on how beautifully you designed the opt-in page or squeeze page. If you are not offering good value for viewers to give there e-mail address and other information, then they will not do that. You should offer them irresistible gift, that they can't refuge. Your wording should be like that. Simple theme can make you laugh if your gift is valuable. I think this will help you.

I think rather than testing the design of the squeeze page, you should test out the offer - what are you giving them in exchange for their email? What is the absolute best thing you COULD give them? The key to super high opt in rates is to find out what your prospect is DYING to have or find out or whatever - and then give it to them in exchange for their email. For instance, If I said I would send you $50 to optin to my list... Do u think my optin rate would only be 15%?
