Well...you can actually do both! When warriors buy your WSO, before the access the download page, they have to fill in an opt-in form and this becomes ur buyers list.

I'm planning to buy 2 wso's offering a free product to build my list and sell something at the same time, or most likely I might try to just buy 1 wso and sell something while building a list by putting an opt-in form on the download page, that way I'm building a buyers list, a very responsive list.

What do you think?

Sure you can do both at the same time, but consider the fact that when you sell a product, you'll have far fewer names to add to your mailing list than if your WSO offered a freebie. And yes, if you sell a product, an opt-in should be optional.

I'd rather build a list of proven buyers rather than a list
of freebie seekers. I'd add an incentive to get buyers on
my list rather than force them to join.

I personally refuse to be forced to join a list to gets
something I've already paid for, and sometimes issue
a refund request.

I totally agree with you. I might add another freebie after they bought my product, and put it on the thank you page, that way, they have an option to enter their email address if they want to also get the unannounced bonus.

Bingo! It's not hard to get almost ALL buyers on your list once they've purchased, bu offering an additional bonus for free. Just don't make it mandatory or you'll have a list of very resentful people.

Absolutely. This is one of the reasons why some people charge <$10 for WSOs that they can easily afford to give out for free. Pre-qualifying your list.

You can make a list of freebie, but you can test them if they buy something. After they subsribe you can put on the "thank you" page , a low offer( a few $), and you will see how many will buy something!

Hello,
I personally likes to sell a product to WSO because i gets to see the result of it. By offering the Free product to get mailing list is just the before step,Don't you think so? It is definitely very important too as it is the before step before you can actually not waiting for miracle. However, you can also get more mailing list after you sold a product. Keep in mind, a lot of people wouldn't fill out the opt-in since tend to be lazy but still a good thing to do.

Ya know...getting buyers onto a list isn't a big deal if you just parse the paypal email and automatically add them without asking. It's a way to keep in touch with them with product updates, bonuses, etc.

If you frame the opt in as benefitting them...no one should have a problem. I can understand people's annoyance with a seperate opt in form after the purchase...avoid it with setting up the parsing that aweber makes super cake easy.

Just send them a thank you email automatically, with link to their download, and maybe a bonus too. You'll never get any complaints, as they can opt-out if they want to. Follow up a week or so later to find out how they're getting on, and add a tip to getting more out of your products. Pretty soon, they'd look forwards to reading your emails.

Regska...don't worry so much...creating a free WSO is very simple and if you keep bumping it you'll have a list in no time flat....in a matter of a week or so.

Paid products and One Time Offer sales on your Free WSO can monetize this whole system until you can learn new things to scale it. You just gotta get it first so just do it

Thanks for the advice. Some say to start a free WSO to build a list then monetize through proper sales funnel, others are saying to start selling a low cost $7-$10 valuable report to build a buyers list while earning some money.

I guess I'll try doing both and see which one works better.

Obviously the offer is most important, but don't forget, timing plays a huge role....

Whatever you choose you'll want to do more than one bump if you can afford it.

I've had some days do almost nothing, and some just go crazy with signups or sales. All depends on how many people are viewing that day and how slow or fast the other bumps are going.

As for the original question, both convert as good as the other if your copy and offer is solid.

Thanks for the advice about timing. From my observation, I always log in here in WF from 3am-7am EST, and the average people viewing WSO section during that time is around 600-1,000. Is that already a good number? Or is there a better numbers outside that time period?

Can you also tell me the best time to post WSO based on your experience with more than thousands of people viewing that section?
