Anyone Using The MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate WP Plugin?

I'm not an affiliate of this product, but I just bought something called of MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate Plugin yesterday to cloak my affiliate links for my Wordpress sites. I struggled with several other link cloakers prior to getting this, and oh my gawd what a hassle they were. This one seemed to be good based on their sales page, so I was willing to fork over quite a bit more for it than other link cloakers ($100). I'm having some problems with it (can't edit WP pages and could before and a couple other things) and their customer service seems to be silent.

Anyone know about this guy Pawan Agarwal, his product, and his site: MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate :: WordPress Affiliate Link Tracking Plugin ??

Thanks.
Steve

The guy was on vacation and that is why he didn't respond right away. Yes, we fixed the issue. It is a clunky fix but it works. There are a few things about it that I don't like and wish were easier to do but it works.

Anyone reading this that knows how to write programs (or whatever you call this stuff( -- there is room out there and money to be made if you can create a GOOD and EASY TO USE and RELIABLE Wordpress plugin that cloaks links. I tried a few link cloakers and they were a major pain in the arse. You would of course have to update it as WP evolves.

Steve, can you please PM me with what you don't like about ninja affiliate and what are the changes you would like to see in it? I'll personally take a look into that and will make sure to have those added in the new version.

Also, we are working on adding many new features in the ninja affiliate and it will be released soon. Stay tuned for that.

For all the new release notification you can check the new "release announcements" thread in the maxblogpress forum.

We have already done more than 15 minor/big updates for this plugin and will continue to do so like all of our plugins.

          Hi Pawan,

I have already been in touch with you about this issue about the strikethrough in a few of my affiliate links. The solution you suggested of changing the html for the link isn't working because one of the links I modified last night worked for the moment, but I now see that the same affiliate link has the strikethrough in it again today. I'm also waiting to hear back from Dan Grossman who is the guy that created the WPRS theme I'm using. Like I said in my previous post here, I just upgraded to the latest version of WP but the issue still persists.

          Thank you

It might be good but I see people are having problems with it. The problem with free plugins is that they often become orphans when the developer abandons them as Wordpress evolves. That same thing happened with another of the more popular WP link cloaking plugins recently. Since the guy wasn't making any money with it, he doesn't have the motivation to update it and then you're screwed with all those links maybe not working. Of course a paid-for plugin can be abandoned too. I'm just hoping that since I paid a hundred bucks for that Max Blog Wordpress link cloaker that they will maintain it.

Agreed, the above plugin works well and is a breeze to operate.

I also have the MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate plugin but have not had the chance to implement it yet so won't comment specifically on that but I have several of his other plugins, "MaxBannerAds" - "Favicon" and they are all great and easy to use and he does update his stuff, it was because this paid for plugin was from him that I trusted to spend the money out on it.

        Cheers

          Hi Sue,

I've been using the MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate plugin for a couple weeks now on two WP sites and everything was fine until a few days ago where it is randomly putting a strikethrough line through some of my affiliate links. I'm using it with Dan Grossmans WPRS review site theme. I just upgraded to the latest version of WP with the hopes that maybe that would eliminate the problem but that didn't change things. I don't know conclusively yet if the problem is with the plugin or it is the themes fault. I was wondering if you had a chance to activate the plugin yet, and if you were experiencing the same strikethrough issue as I am?

          Thank you.

Steve, I just now checked your support ticket. This strikethrough is because of the "Broken Link Checker" plugin. Please talk with the developer of this plugin to solve this strange behavior of the plugin.

It has to be a conflicting CSS setting. If you do search for "line-through" in your css, you're bound to find the culprit. If you don't need strike-throughs anywhere, just change occurrences of "line-through" to "none".

Please tell me if I'm looking in the right place...

I went to Stylesheet (style.css), copied the code and pasted it into notepad. Then I did a search for "line-through" and nothing came up. I did the same for "strike-through" and nothing for that either.

This strikethrough is only with a few of my affiliate links. Do you have any other idea where I could look?

The guy that created this affiliate link cloaker (Pawan) told me to change the html with my links from the existing:

      <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www

      To this:

      <a style="text-decoration:none" rel="nofollow" href="http://www

That seems to work but what a hassle if I have to do that with every link that gets the strikethrough in it.

i'm not sure if i'm missing something ... but i use the free wp_affiliate plugin on all my blogs and have never had any problems with it whatsoever .... so forking out $100 for something that appears to do reasonably the same is a surprise to me ...

no flaming please, just offering an alternative for people

It must be better if you pay for it

Or you can use a tracking program like Adtrackz (brought this a while back) and count the clicks as well.
.... i think there is a click counting plugin, too.

I have been stripping out plugins... too many on board... can slow you down.

(Note Adtrackz may not install on new updated servers.... but there is a solution... I'm going to put it on my blog a little later)

One that I know of. Its not compatible with the 'Broken Link Checker' plugin and will put a strikethrough line through some of your affiliate links when you use that plugin. It seems to be random as to which links it chooses to do the strikethrough line through too.

I purchased the MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate Plugin last week. I've only had a few days to test it, but so far, so good.

There was a slight problem with the download after purchase, which Pawan quickly and courteously handled, so here's one vote for his customer service. Thanks again, Pawan.

Yes, MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate is still being updated regularly. I think it's the only wordpress plugin of its kind which gets updated periodically.

The latest major update release was version 1.8.5:
MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate Latest Version (1.8.5) – The New Look

After that we did minor update as version 1.8.6.

I've purchased a few of their plugins and a couple were buggy and inconsistent the way they worked. Its been a while and I don't remember all the details now but after numerous customer "support" requests on how to fix some of the issues I finally had to abandon their plugin that places banners on your site...a plugin I paid about $100 for!

I moved from PrettyLink Pro to Ninja Affiliate... and later, after PLP made major updates I moved back to PLP. (PLP is in the process of developing another major revision due out soon too, not sure on dates just that I know the team is coding on it now.)

Because I did not need the campaign features, PLP's other tools that were not offered by NA were enough to bring me back.

Picking between the two became a case of knowing exactly what you need.

Both provide link management that is VITAL to success out here once you start building a link library.

I did also feel that Pretty Link Pro was more stable than NA. It's worth nothing that both plugins ad significant load time to the site if you use the live keyword/on the fly embedding of links.

I think its also worth nothing that Blair also markets to the PLP list a LOT less aggressively than Pawan does to the MBP list.
