Getting traffic to a new Celebrity site.

A friend of mine just launched a new celebrity site where photos are posted and people comment on the images.

My question is for all the traffic experts out there.

What would be the best course of action to start getting a flow of traffic to the site?

All ideas are welcome, both free and paid.

  • Where will your friend be getting these photos from? is he a paparazzi?

    Free traffic
    You could try joining celebrity forums which allow signature links which can point to your site.

    Article marketing could also work, using the resource section to promote your celebrity photo site.

    Paid traffic

      Definitely not Paparazzi, although I am unsure of which site the photos are coming from. I do know he is going to pay through the nose for them. I believe he is getting them from the same place Perez gets his?

    Have your friend optimize the images for search. For instance, if he has photos of Kim Kardashian, instead of naming the photos something like img00023.jpg you can call it kim_kardashian.jpg. So when Google spiders your site they can index your photos to appear in the image search results. Great way to get free traffic that no one utilizes.

    Let me know if that works out for you.
  • Since the site is brand new go for pay per click advertising to get traffic. Meanwhile post some articles to some article directories and post some videos to youtube.
  • Google Images and Google Trends - when the two match up you will get amazing traffic, fast

    Follow them closely...
  • A good celeb site should get massive amounts of traffic anyway!

    Agreed that Google images is great, assuming your photos are new and unique!

    • A celebrity site have a little profit, you will have good income when your site get mass traffic. If you want to get traffic, you may use blog comments at other celebrity sites. Try to post at first or second comments at new post, you will get some good traffic.
      Another ways is tag your picture with same name of celebrity, you will get decent traffic from Google Images Search.
      Add more contents or picture daily and you will get a lot of traffic.
  • Twitter might work here.

    Never had much luck with it for my (more boring) niches though.

  • yes thats true, to get good & fats traffic on you site.
  • Sins this is a celebrity photos, I guess that Stumbleupon can work.
    In my experience when i post funny videos and pics on any of my sites and I bookmark them on Stumbleupon it the only time time it brings me any traffic.

  • Social bookmarking will help you greatly. Also, update your website with regular content.
  • Surveys are a great way to get traffic to your site. Something like "Should Mel Gibson go to prison" or "Who's worse, Mel or Oxana" whatever...


    Submit the survey to social bookmarking sites and wait for reactions...
