[HELP] Hiring Cold Calling Employees

Hey guys,

I am after some tips to help me find some cold calling employees.

I have started an SEO service and begun emailing, however the low open rates involved as well as emails landing in the junk folder makes me want to venture into cold calling.

However my issue is that I personally don't want to be the one doing it - I'd like some opinions on where I can find a cold caller, preferably from Australia.

Which of a monthly or commission based payment is more suitable for this job?

Ideally, I'd like someone with SEO knowledge, however I can provide all details needed.

    Perhaps hiring someone as a Personal Assistant would fill this role perfectly?

      there are many companies in oz that provide a telemarketing service where they would call clients on your behalf / have you done a quick search for these or not ?

      if you would prefer somebody to work for you then maybe you will need to run a local ad in the paper for that part time employee as above?

    Direct sales is a real artform - unless the people you hire a good
    your wasting your time - and good sales people don't come cheap

    Thanks for the replies thus far, I've decided to go on a commission based payment.

    I'd ideally like to hire someone based in Australia, preferably Victoria. Any tips as to how I can do this?

    I know a newspaper ad would do it; I'll have to see how to get one.
    Any other opinions? Might be able to find one here, at WF I suppose - possibly DP?

    Instead of cold calling, why not put in a news paper ad with your product? I would rather call people myself If I was starting in the telemarketing business so I can get a grasp on what sells and what doesn't.

      Fair point, however a newspaper ad is going to cost me money up front, whereas I am not risking anything with hiring a commission based cold caller.

      If I had the time to call I would do so, however I don't meaning I am outsourcing a major part of the work; along with the recruiting of clients. Within the next 6 weeks to 2 months I'll have time to call myself.

    so you run a seo service.....
    can you show me a site ranking well in the serps due to your efforts.....
    can you show me a number of sites in different industries
    if not, why not?

      Unless you have experience yourself I wouldn't hire an amateur, and good sales people won't be cheap. Better go for a pro or use a company. You'll pay more but the higher response should still give you a good ROI (though I have no idea of your closing rates when you go the meetings that are set up by your cold caller...)
