Internet Marketing - How to treat Cheaters? Any Legal Procedures Possible?

Hey guys,

I own a small software and business solutions center. What can I do if some one steal the complete screen shots of the works and campaigns we have done and sell it somewhere else? ( the sales copy has everything visible - that says its done by my company). What if he give the exact screen shots (that I can show paypal or for some legal procedures), and made thousands of dollars on that? I plan to conduct a legal action along with highly urgent paypal dispute, is that possible?. He had stolen the idea, the work we have done and our screen shots. And claimed everything as himself and cheated more than a hundred of reputed internet marketers.

Let me know what do you think about this. I am late just because I didn't know that he is such a cheat. Also he is having a good reputation. So I don't want to bash him without letting him know that am about to do this. But its very unfortunate that he had made thousands even without asking permission or something from my side.

Let me know
Sincere Regards,
Mervik haums

If the screen shots are copyrighted you can blame him for copyright infringement. But paypal can't do nothing! Good luck!

Find out where their server is. If its in the USA, serve them and their webhost a DMCA notice. If its in the EU, there is an EU equivalent I believe.

You can file a DMCA with their host.

Here's the instructions and a sample DMCA notice

Well if your product is virtual, PayPal can't do anything. They specifically state that their Seller Protection does NOT cover any virtual goods : (.

I know - what to do man! its all my bad luck - He has taken this and became literally famous for the same - It was our company's effort and idea!! I feel the same how gotti (CPA WSO - which was stolen and sold DP) might have felt. After all the 'GUY' is right here - I'm leaving him free - only because I know - people care about 'reputation' if I bash him out that may be the worst thing for him..

But I'm not another Gandhiji! I will find a way to solve to stop doing this to others at least - even with a simple research I could see that he is continously doing this. Even asking for getting ebooks and rewrite it for him in some popular forums. What the heck! I don't know - what made him to think that all warriors are easy to be fooled.!

      Let him 'be good'

What I have done when I got one of my products "stolen" and it was being sold ilegally on eBay, I asked my Attorney to investigate and he could call and speak with the "pirate" and, speaking in "Attorneys Language", scared the hell out of him and it was not necessary to go further with an official law suit.

Maybe that could work for you...

    Cheers!

    Alex.

Yeah, but I'm seriously confused. He was (I don't know whether he was acting) a good friend of mine. Thats the only reason I told the way and procedures whenever doing something for him..

      but he...
