What Are Your Favourite List Building Strategies?

I am coming up with creative and unusual yet simple ways to build my list and my clients lists ANYTHING you can think of would be a marvellous contribution! It doesn't have to be clever! Anything you can think of will be helpful! I'm adding them all to a book that I'm writing.......

    Create a website that has an opt in form on it. This could be the only thing your visitors see so if you do things right, more the 50% of your visitors will subscribe to your list and hopefully become a customer too.

    After you create your own opt in website and form, you will need to send consistent traffic to it using PPC, articles, videos, etc.

    PTC's are a great, affordable way of advertising. I've noticed that a lot of Chinese and other orientals from Asia tend to be 70%+ of the hits, but it still gets you sales.

    The best way I've ever done it is simple. First I would build a landing page with a FREE product via opt-in. I would then estimate my profits from what I'm actually going to sell to the list and my predicted conversion rates (theres good ways of estimating). Then I would spend 15-20% of my expected profit on £0.04p BidVertiser PPC Advertising to build the list.

    One strategy that is easy to implement is to create a high-value product and give it away. Don't make some junky product or turn one of the millions of existing products your free product. Make it really valuable and just give it away to your list.

    Over time, your list will make you a lot more money than the report cost you to make. It's an investment.

    Let me think.

    - put your link at the base of the emails you send out as part of your signature.

    - Opt in on a squeeze page with free gift etc.

    - use newsletter with the above.

    - Article marketing linking to your squeeze page etc.

    - Use the give aways area

    - use video. Free like Animoto. put on You Tube with link.

    - Content distribution as opposed to article marketing (direct to people in your niche as opposed to SEO)

    - List swaps

    - Classified ads

    -Auto responder swaps

      This is actually not that bad advice. Jonathan Mizel (who has a 770,00+ list and has been online since 1993) claims that list builders should start turning things around and making subscribers feel that they have to give something in order to WANT to be on your list - which offers them free content..
      I recommend checking out Jonathan Mizel's webinar on listbuilding using Media buys it's actually pretty good and the start up costs are not that high...
