The Coolest Advertising Video I've Seen!

OK, it's probably a "guy thing" but I really like this...

It starts out like a normal interview about Sylvester Stallone's new movie then it gets wild! I haven't seen effects like this before, but I bet we'll be seeing more like this.

What a way to make a viral video. What do you think?

Exactly Fellas.. The coolest and the most impressive advertisement expendables. The best thing about it is the skull shown with weapons from all the sides.. Its an impressive way of showing an interview and the which goes best with the effects.

Initially it seems like an normal interview but up to end it thrills you out.I enjoyed it the mos & If I would have given the chance to share, I would have definitely do that.

It's funny you brought this up, I was reading about this ad and it seems to really be popular on some advertising / media blogs, they are all saying how this type of video ads could really be big for YouTube as a way to make money...btw, your right the video is really cool.

Neat. A few people had sent this out already, including Dave Kaminski from WebVideoUniversity.com - just to give credit where it is due.

From what I can tell, the entire page is actually part of the video, and the layout is a mock-up of a typical Youtube page. If you notice, once the video starts, the links in the larger area are not actually working because the related videos and comments are actually an image, within the video frame.

To pull something like this off, the producer would have to have full control of the Youtube layout, something I am sure these guys worked out with Youtube before hand.

Nonetheless a very interesting and exciting use of the expanding (literally) use of video.

Wow, that is a killer video!!!

Now I'll suffer sleepless nights wondering how they've done it ... I just checked my YT channel but couldn't find any way to fiddle with the layout of the page except the few simple options YT offers. Any ideas??

UPDATE: Oh, I see Marty has partly answered my questions ... yes, I noticed the links not working and also the font is a very tiny bit blurred so i thought they must have changed the layout of the page and couldn't find a way to do this. But you're right Marty, they must have had some kind deal with YT. So I can go back to sleep 8-D

OMG.... I was so skeptical after the first, 25 seconds of a 37 second video... And the guys on the right side of the screen caught my eye, then the lasers showed up.

    Amazing!

    Now, that is extremely clever.

Yes, it's been done hand in in hand with Youtube,
this is entirely done with Youtube's team.

I just checked my YT channel but couldn't find any way to fiddle with the layout of the page except the few simple options YT offers. Any ideas??
Ok, essentially the entire page is a large flash animation, the
page is a fake, even the YT video player doesn't exist.

Everything within the expendables directory is just
a flash presentation up until the "subscribe" element
at the bottom of the page.

    Very , very nicely done.

This is done all over the net in various ways, it
has wow factor on YT because the way they've
blended into a typical YT page makes it very
    compelling.

Nice piece of work, not actually that hard to pull
off, just a great idea well executed.

Love it when sly hits the pause button - cute.

Not just a "guy thing" for sure! I caught myself thinking "Oh wow, they show moving images in the related videos section now. I wonder how I could use that..."

    Absolutely brilliant, thanks for sharing!

Really good idea on this one. Little bit cheesy but amazing concept, and a great youtube script! This could be pretty powerful if someone can replicate.

This is quite an amazing interactiveness.

They had to coordinate this with You Tube, there is coding in the video that allows people to leave the You Tube website.

    Cheers,
