What's the simplest membership script?

Hi warriors,

I'm looking for a very simple membership script, not the ones
like amember.

To put it simply, I want something like this:

Visitors goes to the website, and sees the benefits of
joining (for FREE)

There would be 2 buttons on the page, a log-in, and
a sign up link.

When he clicks the sign up he will be taken to a webpage
with a sign up form where he has to fill in these fields:

Name
Surname
E-mail
E-mail confirmation
Password
Password confirmation

When he fills them and clicks submit he will be taken
to the webpage with the "goods".

What would be the best script for this?

    Do you really need a script? Why you do not do this a simple way?

    You have a sign-up page and once they sign-up and confirm the email address, they are taken to download page.

    Search in the WF and you will find a lady, who were selling some kind of script to protect your download files. But, if you do not offer "gold" there, I would simply put a no-follow and no-index download page and that is it.

    Last year at the WF Event in Raleigh, NC there was a presentation about "membership sites" and the simplest way to do it:
    an autoresponder sending the files or download locations gradually, during the time of the membership: daily, weekly or monthly.
