What are you AFRAID of?

Ok, I think everyone has a fear deep in his soul. Fears that make you don't sleep!

But is very important to fight with your fears, you need to be strong in such moments!Do not let fear overwhelm you!

I will share my concerns with you!

Since I have started Internet Marketing ( like 1-2 years ago), I have 2 big fears.

Since now, nobody know how old I am....and this is a big fear! You see, I am very young, and I thought that if I share my AGE, the others IM will marginalize me. Now , I want to fight with this fear...and I want to tell you that I am only 14 and I make money online from some time. I like to do this very much!

And my second big fear is about paypal.....
To see my account limited will make me die. This is one of my worst dreams. Anyway I have a backup plan, in case paypal limit me, but I think the conversion rate will drop! I hope this will not happen!

So, what are your FEARS?

My fear is leaving my job, even though my earning online overcast my work earnings and the earnings drying up.

That is my biggest fear in the market.

Totally agree with you on that one. I earn a steady income as a freelance web developer, enough for me to quit my part time job. There's too much of a risk if I did quit my job because the hours I get freelancing could freeze up at any moment.

I'd say that sounds like a healthy fear, Owen. I have a friend who's always saying "so what's your plan B?" and I think having plan B is vital to getting rid of some of our fears.

I guess you missed THIS thread, tehnolife...lol
    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-posts-wf.html

The general sentiment, of the IM community, seems to be more accepting of young IMers....in fact, the younger you get started the more positioned you'll be to earn quite a bit and have an early retirement. If people DON'T like you, simply because of your age, I bet they probably have something deep down that they are struggling with....fear of seeing a young person supersede them in earnings and techniques.

...lol....and the Paypal issue has me thinking as well...there's nothing to fear though if you have a back up plan though. I've been digesting those threads, as well, attempting to figure out my 'back up plan'....

    I'm afraid of cockroaches.

I can relate to telling people face to face what my age is. I'm 44 but get told I look 28 or so. Sometimes I act like it too, but that's a personal choice

Obviously Im afraid of other things, but I'm not aware of them yet. The key, IMO, is to turn fear into curiosity.

Be curious about something. And be curious enough to learn more about it. Then the fear becomes interest. And with interest- learning.

Once you've mastered the skill or know more about it, what's there to be afraid of?

It's just that cockroaches don't deserve that much of my attention just yet!

I would mention though, you should register your account on paypal as a business account. It knocks the chances of being banned or suspended a little. I also phone them every other day to ask if my account is in good standing, all they ask if for your name, email address and a pin they provide, so do not worry about being quized for your age

I ring as it is a good backup if they do suspend you. All you need to say is I only called yesterday and they said everything is fine. They have all the recordings which they can look back on to check what has been said. This could benefit you alot in suspension of accounts etc.

I am more then happy to take action but afraid of taking the wrong action.

I am aware there are short and long terms ways of going about all this. By that meaning, implementing a system that will provide a residual income (hopefully) for years as oppose to a short peroid of time.

As a result taking actions in a cautious manner in case in the hope that its done correctly. The result is seeing result coming in a trickle as oppose to a flood.

Some of the things I have been doing are creating a bigger site as oppose to microsites for Adsense and not taking shortcuts with backlinking processes.

p.s. To state the total obvious, the fear of age will dampen down with time and I am sure by the time you hit 25, there'd be no fear whatsoever. But hopefully by the time you are 18, you will have made all the $$$ in the world and will have taken early retirement!

Perhaps it'd be better to go all guns blazing.

I am afraid of real big waves, say 12/15 footers. BUT I do like to face my fears, as long as I am prepared.

    IM fears?

Really big projects, big meetings, big amounts of responsibility.

BUT I do the same thing, face my fears and move on.

Next time the wipeout won't hurt so much.

Just wanted to say, what you do is amazing. 14 years old and earning money. If I were you, I would put that right next to my name. It makes me jealous as I wish I started doing this when I was 14. Oh hang on a second though, when I was 14, we did not have internet

Just keep happy and carry on making money.

Being afraid is normal. afraid = sanity. But having a financial security is never possible. After the world economy crisis we should all know this. One day you are a rich banker and the next you are searching for your next job, starting all over again.

My fear: Not realizing what I want in life (catchy), or worse going after the wrong thing.

Hey Tehnolife! Here's a great quote by Brian Tracy 'The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear'.

Focus on your fear and you get more fear, focus on on what you desire and you get more of what you desire and so on.

I started in business picking and selling blackberries when I was your age LOL. Didn't matter that I was only 14 . . . the customers were happy to get what I was offering. So don't you worry a thing about your age as long as you are giving value to your customers.

Keep going you have a great attitude!

As for Paypal . . . . love to know what back up plan you have?

That seems to be (at least to me) a might long wait to get money that belongs to me. Is there an alternative that is a lot faster?

    Great topic,

I find that in the internet marketing arena, there are two main categories of fear.

The first is fear of failure: I think most of us are familiar with this one, this is the one that stops you from quitting your job, the one that makes you feel a little embarassed when you tell your close friends or family members what you're doing (especially when you're just starting out), or even the hesitation to just get started in the first place.

The second however, is probably equally as common, and much less rational. This is the fear of success: Most people subconsciously have a fear that they will lose by winning. This may be because they are venturing into the unknown, they are concerned about what others may think/say, or they are worried that if they succeed - and then screw up, the failure will be bigger than never having succeeded at all.

This fear, to a great extent, stops people from taking action or at least, putting their whole heart and soul into the action that they do take.

For me personally, this was one that I have struggled with my whole life. It always made me seem lazy and apathetic regarding school work, exams etc.

My parents always said that I had the intelligence and ability, but I was lazy - maybe this was partly true, but also, I think as humans, many of us like to be able to justify our failures and so we don't commit to things completely.

Once I started my own business, this came about too. One of the things I like most about your own business is there is nowhere to hide. You have to really push yourself to become all you can be and do your utmost, or you will never (and I mean NEVER) succeed.

Once I started to get past this (and it's still a work in progress) I could see better and better results. With more results comes more confidence in actions and then, less fear.

They say that action is the cure to fear and nowhere is that more true that internet marketing. Through the work that I have done in my business over the past year, not only have I freed myself from the rat race for life - but I might just have freed myself from one of the things that has been holding me back since childhood, too!

Good luck to you all in doing the same!

To see my account limited will make me die. This is one of my worst dreams. Anyway I have a backup plan, in case paypal limit me, but I think the conversion rate will drop! I hope this will not happen!
Having a backup plan is very important, so good for you! And congrats on your successes at 14! About the paypal, I know the feeling. My own fear isn't so much about "my account" per se, but the fear is like "what if paypal goes *away?* Closes down. Disappears.

NOT even so much about "with my money" because I transfer often, but more about *getting* my payments in the first place.

Yes, but if it doesn't convert, you will learn something from that experience.
