INTERNET MARKETING

Hi warriors,

I have a couple of personal security products (digital) which that I would like to start selling soon. A search of personal and security returns about 64m hits and the search in quotes about 1.8m hits!

With that much competition, is Adwords the only way I am going to get anywhere near the front page of google? Or is there another way?

(Be careful about the trap of picking the product first then trying to sell it.)

If you can identify a starving sub-section of that market you can take it on as long everything else stacks up. You don't have to do PPC. You can do articles and blogs and other traffic methods.

  I wouldn't have chosen that market, I just happen to know it very well. But with that much competition I don't know how to make a dent in it and am wondering whether I should even bother to try.

Pick a small group in it and test some long tail PPC key phrases with a one page sales letter

There is surely a less competitive key phrase that will still get you some traffic, so look into some alternatives.

Is there a way you can differentiate your product(s) enough to serve a subsection of the market?

For example, one of the products I'm writing a sales letter for is very competitive, however this particular version is targeted to a small section of the overall audience. You can always create several branches off of the main product and get more traffic that way!
