Youtube Video Quality (problem with my upload)

So I used Jing to record my screen, and uploaded a video to youtube, and the quality is not all that good. You can . Is the problem Jing? Or maybe it is settings on my computer? Any ideas?

The quality is fine. You usually have to wait for a full hour before Youtube can render the video properly.

Ah, thank you! It is much better now. I didn't know that the quality gets better only after an hour. It's nice when doing nothing brings about improvement.

      Is Jing somewhat better?
Zing is very simple to use, and costs $15/year. Camtasia is $299, right?

Yes, Jing and Camtasia are from the same company. Jing (both free and pro) is limited to 5 mns videos, where as Camtasia is not.

Jing free - does not record in mp4, where as pro does, and you can also grab the mp4 file and upload that..

Jing pro allows you to then edit in Camtasia (if you one it). Or you can use a site like JayCut.com to upload and edit your vids with a free editor

Best to record the size of it to 1280 x 720, which will automatically put that in HD format in youtube, when you upload.

The best is to have your video in flv since it will get converted to flv anyway, but if you have a high quality source file, the quality won't suffer that much.

To the OP - nothing wrong with the quality of the video, but if it's possible to do it with Jing, you should zoom in every now and then as it's not that easy to see what's going on right now. I know it can be done with Camtasia, not sure if you can do it with Jing since I've never used it.

Well it all depends on what you're trying to achieve.

But currently mp4 is the preferred choice (especially for file size & quality)

Thank you. Yes, if viewership starts to take off, I will certainly invest in Camtasia as well. You are right about the zoom. I may also just style the fonts larger. So far, I have less than 100 views per video, but hopefully over time I can add videos and increase overall reach.
