It's definitely an awesome start! It needs more text, some images and maybe even a video though.

The one thing I would say is to find a way to get the opt-in box above the fold. I like the design though...very eye catching. I also like to have my opt-in boxes a different color from the surrounding..that way it stands out. Like have the white parts filled in a solid color.

Looks nice, but is structurally less than ideal. You always want the opt-in box above the fold, so visitors can see it without scrolling. Also, add a line about how you will keep their email address private and that you will never spam them, etc. Otherwise, you're in good shape. Always test, too. Work on creeping up that conversion rate as high as you can get it. Only change one thing on the page at a time, so you know what effect it had without confusing it with some other variable.

Cool, because there's quite a few. Post back here and we can check it when you think you've corrected them all.

    1. I'd reduce the whitespace before the headline.

    2. I'd put the headline in quotes.

    3. I'd reduce the whitespace after the "This FREE report is for you if:"

    4. I'd not insult my potential subscriber by suggesting they're going to enter an invalid email address.

    5. I'd get rid of all the spammy exclamation marks.

    6. I'd redesign the subscription form. Too much white space. It's headline could be much better too. I'd not use a grey button.

    7. I'd get rid of the link to GetResponse.

    8. I'd add a link about the safety of the information they're providing you.

    9. I'd try to fit the whole thing on one page to avoid scrolling.

    Cheers,

    Neil

Looks nice. But one downside though... From the first glance I can't figure out the website is about acne, until I read the headline. Add some graphics to fix that problem. You can get them at sites like Istockphoto.com, dreamstime.com for very little.

I tried checking it out, but I got an error - maybe you've got it down while you're working on it?

But believe it or not, how it looks is totally besides the point. You've had some great comments and suggestions here, but remember that at the end of the day, the design/text/video/structure only matters when its getting you the maximum results. What works for some, might not convert as well for others.

Some of the tightest, best-designed sites convert amazing. And conversely, the lowliest, ugly sites convert amazing, too.

      Here's what I'd recommend:

      • Run the page you have, and keep an eye on your stats (conversion rate, etc...)
      • Build another page based on some of the tips that these fine folks have offered, and split test it with the one you've already got running.
      • Let the test run long enough to get statistically significant figures
      • Dump the worst performing one.
Then if you really want to tighten it down, repeat this process a handful of times, dumping the lowest performing version after each test.

But the most important thing is that you've got yourself started - my hat's off to you!

    @mudbutt

I have a quick question for ya... Did you utilize some sort of template to make that page or did you design the graphics yourself in Photoshop or something?

It's very good. Sure, there are some issues. But those can be cured with the services of a decent proofreader. If I had zits, I'd sign up. Nice job!

I agree with everyone else on having the opt-in box above the fold. I also think it would be powerful to have some sort of before and after photos of someone with bad acne to clear skin.
