.info worth it or not?

I've been thinking about developing a couple of websites for a quick flip soon, and I was wondering. Does anyone think using a .info site will seriously harm my asking price or not?

The first site is going to be an article directory site.

I would appreciate everyone's thoughts.

dot infos have their uses but I don't think they're suitable for site flipping. You can flip em' but a .com is better, you'll get a much better price for a .com more times than not.

agreed....I think that if I was buying a site I would balk if it was a .info. Although I do own a couple of .info sites and they do fine but I think there is a stigma...poor .info sites...never had a chance in this world of hate and prejudice

My .info site is doing really well. But sadly an urban myth has spread around the fact that .info is rubbish, when it's not.

I think you hit it on the head but perception drives business.

I appreciate everyones thoughts, I guess I will just head the .com route then.

Since you're stating that you want to do a quick flip and the site doesn't exist yet, there is obviously going to to be little value other than the quality of the graphics, articles and domain name.... I'd at least go with a .com here.

Given two sites to choose from where neither has been monetized, I'd believe your .com would always sell for a few dollars more over .info

Personally I only register .coms. ( and an occasional .org for specific marketing purposes)
