Time To Stop With Paypal?

I have just been reading horror stories from some warriors experience with paypal last week.

I think they were banned or did not get a chance to withdraw their money from paypal due to only providing digital/downloadable goods through their accounts. SOme had their accounts for more than 3 years.

So, before I start to worry about my account. Could anyone suggest a good alternative.

I know clickbank is one, but I wanted to start this thread to share knowledge and advice on possible alternatives to paypal.

Thanks in advance for your input.

alertpay, e-junkie and clickbank seem to be good alternatives...

I'm using paypal because i never had a problem with them...so I see no reason to change...

I try not to use paypal if I don't have to, the truth is if you've had no problem with them why would you need to try anything else!

2CO is another alternative. But I'll keep using Paypal.

2Checkout is a great alternative. It's got a cheap set up fee, and no monthly fees after that. Plus, you can still accept Paypal when using them which is a great bonus.

I think, I need to clarify the question here. I've had no problems with paypal. However, this week one of the threads I read here on WF had been banned from his account because he only offered digital products.

So, just made me think and worry a bit. As I am only offering digital products as well. I would hate to see my account getting banned.

    Dude.

You keep $850k in your Paypal account?

I wouldn't trust them with $100 of my money after my experience with them. Long story, not going to get into it. But..

    1. Don't leave $800k+ in your account.

    2. Have a backup plan ready because they do shut down accounts for absolutely no reason. It could be receiving money from a country they consider "evil" or one of a million other reasons.

I still use them. But I've had a horrible experience with them in the past.

    Dan,
Read your comment twice as I was not sure if you were joking or being serious - $850 in PayPal - you serious mate?

Forget about PayPal - ever thought what would happen if someone hacked into it - especially now that you are advertising it? Be safe mate - transfer....that's a lot of money to lose.

The best alternative would be to open a merchant bank account(If you qualify) then find a online payment gateway, I hear that FirePay, which is a reseller of Authroize.Net, is very IM'er friendly(Pity I can't use them since I don't live in Canada or the States)

When you get money in your PayPal account, you download it to your bank. You don't leave it there so they decide to get a wild hair in their ass and lock up your account.

I got locked out of my account one day, many years ago, and it took me a week to find out why. And the reason was that they asked me for some information when I disputed a purchase when the seller screwed me. The matter was settled rather quickly so I ignored the information request. But that was the reason for the lock out. Fortunately I had just, earlier that day withdrew over $3,000 from my account. Money was flying in there faster than I could count it at the time, so I would download it every day or two. Since then I always withdraw it as soon as it gets there.

They don't need any logical reason to lock up your money, just their made up bs rules. So, NEVER leave money in there. That way you should not have too much trouble.

My understanding of Paypal is that they only freeze accounts if they determine that the money coming into the account is as a result of multilevel marketing activities. They just dont like it. However it appears that just about anything else is fine.

I never had any problem with my Paypal a/c. If you are doing some good money in Paypal then better to call them and ask whether they are going to have any problem or not.

I've had problems with PayPal twice and both times they got resolved with a single email and quite quickly too. However, I am always extra cautious and usually as soon as I see $150 or more, I withdraw to my CC.

Paypal is great. I would not recommend anyone to keep large amount of money in the account. If they see suspicious activities in your account, your account will be blocked. If someone tried to log on your account many times, you might get blocked too.

I have read one ebook about paypal. It advised anyone not to keep large amount of money in there no matter what. Always wire your money into bank frequently. They could suspend your account any time. The suspension could take months to solve. Until that time, the money is no use because you can't access to it.
