The intent of mobile internet use
This relates to what we do because as internet marketers we need to know where people are spending time and what they are looking for.

New Study Shows 'Intent' Behind Mobile Internet Use -- NEW YORK, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ --
and the most interesting part I found was this:
Mobile phones are not a learning tool. Mobile users (76%) are much less likely than all users (92%) to go online to learn. Learning requires time and patience, something mobile phone users are in short supply of.So it seems right now at least that most people on cell phones are not looking to "learn" as much as PC and desktop users.
They (64%) are 1.5 times less likely than the traditional user (96%) to go online to educate themselves
They (64%) are 1.4 times less likely than the traditional user (94%) to go online to research.
They (95%) are more likely than the traditional user (86%) to go online to keep informed.
This all might be really obvious to some here, but to me this is interesting and this means that at least for a while, probably for at least 5 years, the majority of "information seeking" will come from pc and desktop users.
the article says " Learning requires time and patience, something mobile phone users are in short supply of."
So what application is there in this?
I guess we should all be preparing to enter the mobile marketing world when it is appropriate, but for most of us, it's not really appropriate for us yet unless we're selling ringtones maybe.
So don't worry about desktop usage becoming obsolete any time soon.
People and mediums will have to change quite a bit before more purchasing of information starts to happen on cell phones.
I would appreciate any other insight others have on this. Hope this is interesting and that I haven't wasted your time lol.
