If you had $3,000 to invest in IM ... what would you do?

I was thinking PPC or paid tools ..
#main internet marketing discussion forum #invest
  • I think i would invest a good chunk of it in PPC... But I would probably use most of it for outsourcing and tools that would make my IM life easier.
  • Outsourcing and tools... definitely!!
  • I'd definitely invest in a couple good VA's...and a new computer. LOL:p:p
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I would buy the Warrior Forum from Allen.

    Hello!

    • Michael,

Allen probably makes twice that, in a day, just on WSO thread bumps...lol

    • Oh yeah! Why the heck didn't I think of that? LOL

    • buy the warrior forum for $3000 buckeroos....i think not.

Maybe if you added another three zeros to it. $3,000,000 :p:p:p
    • Maybe a banner ad for 30 days

  • I would hire two sales people to sell offline services for me fulltime for a month and create 20k with the 3k.

He (Allen) got me for about $160 last week... and you know whats crazy? I am happily looking forward to giving him thousands more!

Wouldnt that be a great business to be in?
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I would be do what I most want to do.
  • Aside from PPC, i would buy lots of solo ads.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Outsourcing my business away.....decreasing the amount of work I have to do while simultaneously increasing the amount of income :-)
  • If I had $3k given to me today specifically for the purpose of investing in IM (more specifically, invest in my business), I would probably spend it on advertising, and hiring someone to create the ad/run the ad/etc.

I would find something that had a good ROI, starting off small, and providing it yielded results, scale up from there. Some ads I have run on the WSO have had a good ROI, others not what I'd like. But that is one area you can start off small and scale up providing it works for you.

  • find a roulette table at bally's vegas (always had luck there...) put it all on 11....
at 35 to 1 odds...I'd collect my $165,000....I have a few major projects on the table & that would go a long way towards outsourcing

    • This does not sound like a very high probability bet to me, are you sure you want to risk the entire $3,000 on one spin of the wheel? lol
    • ZING!

      we have a winner, folks.

      I like lateral thinkers.
  • I would by coaching services from a respected member of this forum. Outsource content creation and use about $1k to paid ads
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • For me, I prefer not spending 3,000 on line. I would rather have a trip.

    • I would definitely outsource a good deal of my work. Especially the more mundane SEO type tasks.
  • I would outsource (more than I currently am) according to my goals and create 2 pieces of much needed software. Oh and with the leftover buy the WF
  • 3,000 to the dollar..

    set up a business
buy a bunch of sites that are keyword geared
    redecorate, and optimize out
Get a list of companies that look to have no online presence
    Sell it to one!

Then take the earnings of that then invest in PPC/CPA

  • I would think what you do would depend on your:

    - strengths
    - weaknesses
    - needs
    - business model

For me, I'd probably hire a programmer to create a product or two based on my ideas.
  • If you are new to ppc , then I would avoid ppc marketing at all costs. It can drain your budget fast and your conversions could be lousy.
  • I would purchase domains and outsource the text writing.
  • If I have 3000 $ I would be making about at least 200 $ everyday gambling
  • outsource SEO'd articles big time!!!!....and I mean big time. Keywords will be your focus.

Just outsource to someone that can do some good work for you. then pay as much as you can to have someone spread them around to the top say 20 articles directories.

Then you have yourself a winner. Oh yeah!!! Keep the rest and use it to drive more traffic...banner ads, blog ads on top traffic sites in your niche....and watch the sales come flying in.

    hope this helps.
  • I'd buy Brian Burchard's experts academy and spend the other 1k on what I learnt.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Personally, I would just continue doing what I'm doing now. Nothing wrong with my current business setup.

So the $3,000 would be a good night out in Vegas, cheaper for me because I already live here. LOL
  • With 3000 dollars would promote a good product effectively on Facebook. I would monitor my conversion and profits from that product and then look for other great products to promote using the same medium of finding targeted buyers.

I would research new niches to go into. Outsource the creation of mini-sites and the writing of articles. I would also outsource backlinking for the websites.
  • I think the answer is going to depend on your current business model, and where that money would yield the most benefit. If what you're presently doing is time and labor intensive, then outsourcing would probably be the best place to spend those funds. On the other hand, if you are currently using paid advertising which is giving you a good ROI (return on investment), then it'd be best to spend most of it on additional advertising!

  • Without giving a second thought I will start building list in IM niche. My target would be to build atleast 2000 subscribers in that amount of money.

  • id go take a weekend off, splurge and reflect on how to improve the business.
  • I would definitely spend it on some useful tools to improve my blog, spend some money on a new design, and advertisements.
  • $3,000 is not that much to use on PPC

you could lose that in a day or even a few hours

the question is what would you send that traffic to ?

well my advice is what ever you do, send ALL your traffic you spend your money on, to an opt in page and build your list!

    so take that $3k

invest in some good solo ads that will get you a good sized list to start off with.

bare in mind i just spent $3,000 on my hosting bill for the last 3 weeks!

    lol

    hope that helps

    • I hope you don't mind me asking, but how on earth did you rack up a $3k hosting bill over the last 3 weeks??

  • I'd finally upgrade to my canon 5dMKII and then hire a camera guy to shoot a whole bunch of content all day for my tutoring company.
  • tools and Outsourcing...
  • I would buy a lot of advertising.

    • Advertising is useful in many ways and helps much IMO.
  • Outsourcing article writing and some backlinks
  • Will get membership of coaching web sites, invest on domains and hosting and do PPC.
    • [1] reply
    • I'd buy some hosting with a large amount of C Class IP's and then I would buy some expiring PR2+ domains from GoDaddy Auctions and sell links on them for x$/month.

  • I would use it in buying a website and in outsourcing for maintaining my site and increasing my income.

What's the average price of a website anyway?
Would the $3,000 enough for buying a site?
Where can we find good sites for sell?
And what are some important considerations in choosing a good website?
    • [1] reply

    • Yeah 3k sounds great. I have a bunch you can buy now.

Sbucciarel sells fully functioning excellent blogs on here for just $17. It depends what you want but I wouldn't go round offering just anyone 3k for any old site.
      • [1] reply
  • I would invest them in more marketing tools!!

  • I would use it to hire a good VA to take over the tedious tasks I do not want to do anymore.

I would join a good membership/coaching site to help keep me on track and focused on executing plans. (My wife currently does the "keep you focused" job.)

I would buy more promotional materials from Fiverr sellers.

Now, the bigger question should be what will you do to overcome the weak spots in your current place in IM. Do you need to have a coach to keep you focused and accountable? Do you need to invest in traffic using PPC? Do you need to develop a product to sell yourself? Do you need to have a Virtual Assistant or two to create content, do your social bookmarking, setup blogs, etc.?

The important thing is to make sure your $$$ of investment will give you a long term ROI instead of a quick flash of cash.
  • i will ask allen for private coaching

    • You'd probably not get more than 5 hours with him, if even that...lol!

    • I would keep $1000 for months of hosting and auto-responder.

      I would find 10 profitable micro-niches.
I would write 1 short report for each of this niches.

      I would buy 10 domains.

I would outsource the writing of articles in each of this micro-niches.

I would transform the articles in videos.

I would submit the articles to article directories.
I would submit the articles to sites like scribd and others.
I would upload the videos using tubemogul.

After someone buys I will take him to a page where for another bonus short-report or more information he/ she will suscribe to my list.

After that I will build 1 to 3 backlinks per day for each of the reports.
  • I would invest 1500 in my education and the rest applying the education I got.

Beware: Do Not Spend any money in advertising if you havent made any money... PPC is for people whos banking who have $1000 budget for testing...
1.Build some sites around some specific products and get backlinks from Fivverr.com to rank them.
    2. Buy PPV traffic to build a list..
P.S. Stay away from PPC you will always lose if you dont have a big budget...
