New to all this...looking for way to invest 2k!

Hey everyone, I've been looking over most of the introduction/newbie content and it seems pretty good. I've been around the idea of making money using the internet for sometime, I've just never really been extremely successful at it.

Basically, I have an extra 2k that I'm looking to invest. I'm looking for something close to autopilot, or something with small maintenance. I am NOT looking for an ebook, a program, or a plan that I have to purchase....just the best way to make some money.

I understand lots of people want to make money with no effort, which is not what I'm asking. I understand it will take considerable amounts of effort. However, because I am extremely busy as a full time student in dental school, I do not have lots of spare time- hence the 2k budget (for outsourcing, ect.)

So any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

I have a great idea for you.

Go to clickbank and find a product in the work at home niche that not only pays you once but can pay you month after month for people who become members and pay a monthly fee.

So find one and sign up with them.

Get your own domain name at Godaddy.com and then create a page where you can capture your leads into an opt in form. That way, you can follow up with them automatically.

Then invest in marketing tools to bring in as many targeted visitors to your site, and the more people subscribe to your list, the better, and more sales down the road.

Now, too many people here focus on selling other people's products for a ONE time fee but I am here to tell you all who are doing this that if you are not promoting recurring billing products then you are living a lot of money on the table.

    Hope this helps.

I completely agree with this, except I would recommend NameCheap.com for your domain name because they're having a special on domain names right now.

Learning skills need time so if you want to make money through internet then be ready to give time, if you can tell me the fields you are interested in and your expertise then I tell you a better way. Continue your current efforts until you find something that is showing a return and then once you've accomplished that you'll have the reserves to amp up production.... bank the $$ in the meantime.

If you just throw $2K at "stuff" without having a plan in place, you might as well just flush the $2k down the toilet. You need to know what direction you want to go in before you spend money.

There is a great thread in this very forum today, begun by nicholasb. It is a very good blueprint to follow, and you don't have to risk your 2K. The thread is titled Simple Plan to Reach $100 a Day in 30 Days

Create a product, have great conversions, test it with ppc or article marketing, launch it and let affiliates have at it once you have some data to show them about the conversions.

    Product..300-800 depends,
    Designer..300
Copywriter...the warriors for hire has some great deals....400-1k+
Test it with ppc, spend around 200-400 getting conversions and data using the right keywords of course.
Or, you could test it with article marketing, but that takes a while.

Once you have stats and a good affiliate section, launch it on all the popular forums where they have a section and of course pay the 50 for it to go on clickbank.

total..maybe $1500-2000, possibility of success.....ok, if you have a good aff section and proof of conversions.

And, even if you don't get a ton of affiliates, you can still market it on ppc and seo. Just go direct to paypal for quick reinvestment on ppc traffic.

Cheers, or do the usual seo affiliate marketing model, but having a product with affiliates is def one of the most autopilot methods.

There's so many different models to follow that all work ... when you do them right it's hard to just find something and throw $2K at it.

I don't think it's possible to skip the learning curve. Even when it comes to outsourcing ... my friend is currently outsourcing loads but even employing someone and finding good ppl has a learning curve to it (which takes time).

I think you should investigate more about product creation and affiliate marketing before throwing any money at anything (there are loads of threads here).

And then ... when you have a model you want to put in place, create a plan and put it in place.

I would say that low ticket product > upsell > bigger upsell > continuity program is likely to be one of the best methods you can employ (afterall ... that's what the big boys do).

Yep...looking for someplace to toss $2k is just backward thinking. Cool that you're willing to invest when so many others just want stuff for free, but you've got to find a biz model that YOU like and stick with that until it bears fruit.

Open a new no fee bank account
get a credit card for that account
stick the $2k in that account

All of your expenses from now on will be drawn from that account or credit card.

When you earn IM money it will go into that bank account (or to Paypal and then into that account).

Pick one area and go learn it (affiliate marketing, product creation, offering services). Find a need or a void and fill it (should be good practice for dentistry :-)

Sounds overly simple, but that's how great businesses get built.

You could buy a 100 high quality articles with that kind of money and use the rest of it on the domain, website, design, blog, marketing, etc.

You could even outsource these things, and the money would easily pay for itself.

okay, I definitely appreciate what everyone has to say, although some have misinterpreted my post.

I'm not looking for something to throw 2k at without any knowledge or practice, I'm simply stating, I have the funds available to spend on a project. I have been around IM for quite some time (basically just reading tons and tons of content, everything from making money with a wordpress blog and adsense to promoting products on clickbank). I've never really pulled the trigger on any of it, and I am in a situation now where I can. I have no problem spending a few hours a day (which I understand is not much), but I figure with that time, and some decent cash....I should be able to get somewhere.

I'm interested in the promoting a work at home niche product on clickbank, but isn't that pretty saturated? It seems I click on links to literally thousands of these within a given week and none of them make me want to spend ANY money...is this just because I've read all about this stuff and am smart enough to weed through the crap looking to get my cash or do the pitches just really suck?

I'm also interested developing a product to sell, but I have not read anything on this...nor do I have any ideas. Do you mean develop a product or program that teaches people IM?

As far as my intentions with the start up money, I meant to use it for outsourcing really good content, design, landing pages, voice overs, ect...whatever might be needed that required high quality stuff and not just some spare time dental student effort.

I hope that clears things up and allows others to chime in to more detail.

      Thanks again!

can anyone tell me what/where to find all the software/programs needed for this method, it really interests me and I believe it's something I could do, or at least learn to do with time.

"Simple plan to reach $100 a day in 30 days"

I can't post the link, but it was posted in a post above mine.

Can you start a "real," brick and mortar business with $2000 and then profit from it on autopilot?

Well, pretty much applies to IM - you can make good money as long as you have skills, work hard, or invest a lot of $$$. Of course, you can start with $2000, purchase some domains, develop them, add content, build traffic and in six months to a year, you might see some money coming in.

The only way to invest and see almost immediate return is to invest in something seriously blackhat, which is always associated with high risk.

I'm not looking for an immediate return, I'm perfectly fine with not seeing any return for weeks or months, but I would like to see my investment back eventually...hopefully to a point where I can get what I put in it back and make continuous sales with little maintenance (although I understand the number of sales is directly correlated with the amount of work you put in)

I'd hire a few article writers from India and get them to do write as many articles as they can.

You can hire a decent Indian writer for approximately $500 per month and can expect 200-250 articles per month.

So hire 4 guys, learn how to build a decent landing page for CPA/Clickbank products and you'll make your money back in a couple of months (if not sooner)

    All the best
