Need help in cloaking links

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi, I am working some dating programs as an affiliate marketer, and need some help as it has been told to me that cloaking links helps the response rate a lot. Can someone explain these two things:

1. Why does cloaking the links, when the prospect ends up at the same place, help at all, and how will it help me if I cloak my links?

2. How do I cloak my links if I decide to do it? A step by step would be great here!

Some people don't like affiliate links. Some people will steal your sale by replacing your link with their own.

There are lots of ways to do it including a ton of plug ins if you are using Wordpress. Otherwise you have to edit your htcaccess file (I believe).

I use Pretty Link's plug in for my blogs and it works great. You can read about another reason to use something like this on my Warrior Blog
