How many sites do you have per hosting account?

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm looking to start setting up multiple websites but I'm not sure of the best way to go about it.

I have hosting with Hostgater which allows unlimited domains but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to host all my sites on the one account.

Is there a problem in hosting say, 50 sites on the one account?

What are the negative effects of hosting all your site on the one account?

Hi Barry,

I currently have 5 different hosting accounts that I use for my various domains. While you CAN use just one hosting account and host all your sites on it, I like the comfort of know that if for whatever reason one of the hosting sites goes down, I can quickly and easily transfer my domains to another account to keep things running smoothly.

Also, if you want to backlink amongst your various domains, having multiple accounts will allow you to get credible back links from a variety of IP addresses.

If you just have a few sites right now, I would say stick with your current host, but as you expand and start making more money, look into diversifying your hosting plans.

You don't want 50 on one shared hosting account unless they are small static sites. If they are wordpress blogs then they are resource hogs so Hostgator may not like it/handle it.
