Google search results question

Hello,

I am new to the Warrior Forum and can't think of anyplace else to ask this question and get a decent answer.

My website is at instantt1prices.com. When I look up "Instant T1 Prices" with the quotes in Google, the third listing is a link to my website from HotFrog.com and the fifth listing is a Bulletin Board page on my website.

Now I know that no one is going to be searching for this particular keyword necessarily but my website is number 1 on Yahoo for this keyword.

I don't understand why a HotFrog listing would show up and my homepage wouldn't.

The reason I am asking is I wanted to start doing some article marketing for this website but I don't want to waste time doing that if Google is penalizing my site for some reason.

My website is an affiliate website from the old Cognigen (now Commission River), so it mirrors other sites out there to a large degree but there are other old Cognigen sites out there like mine that are ranking highly in this niche with no problem.

I hate to give up on this site because I have almost $100 per month coming in from residual commissions. I know it's not much. I used to advertise with Adwords but it began to lose it's effectiveness.

My goal is to put all my commissions, as little as they are, into article marketing and link building to hopefully get some traffic flowing.

Does anyone have any suggestions before I start spending time and money on article marketing and link building strategies?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you start to do article marketing... and have it link to your site www.yoursite.com at the bottom of the articles....then eventually your site will be number one on google.

It does seem a little strange but it may not be anything to worry about. Have you got any links pointing to your site with the anchor text "Instant T1 Prices"? Put a couple in place and see if the site improves its position.

Does Google send your site any traffic at all? If it does I wouldn't worry about "Instant T1 Prices".

Personally, I don't like to put all my eggs in one basket. Perhaps it's worth investing the time on this site and also starting up a new site.

I don't think there are links coming in with the exact phrase "Instant T1 Prices". I just thought since that is the name of my website it would at least show up before a HotFrog listing and a Bulletin Board listing.

What I want to do is use the little bit of money coming in from this site to buy articles that will build some quality links from Ezine Articles or other article directories.

Would 5-10 articles per month linking to my website help or is there another method that would work better in your opinion? I have about $100 per month to promote this site. I'm looking for the most effective, least time-consuming method.

Also, anyone have good recommendations for article writers. I've had a few decent articles written by "Need An Article dot com" but some have been worthless.

A few days after making this post, my website started showing up as #1 on Google for "Instant T1 Prices". I don't know if it was the articles or some of the changes I made to my site.

Now it's time to go after some real keywords.
