Does ayone know the answer to this: Most of my articles end up on page 1 (position 1-3 ) but then a few days later it'll be on page 3-6 does anyone know why? Is it the google dance? Or do I need more backlinks to them?

yeah! it's called google dance you can return to that first position you only need to create backlinks to those posts, in time you'll return to the first pages.

Yes, this is the correct answer...

It goes to page one for those first few days, because it is new content... But after the newness wears off, it is all about back links to your articles...

I started out doing article marketing to get to my landing page seen. Today, honestly, I'd rather put all those links pointing at my articles to a link pointing to a domain I own instead.

You control the content, you can pick any page of yours to rank, and it'll catch them in a shorter point to make the sale(minus the article click thru). I'd much rather gain the backlinking and PR benefit than a site like GoArticles, Ezine, or whatever, since I can control and track all aspects of what a visitor sees and clicks on.

In the long run, you want your affiliate site to rank, not your articles, because if they can rank your website can too.

I wasn't suggesting that YOU should link to your articles, but rather if you create content people like, they will link to your articles for you...

G usually debuts pages higher in the SERPs, then they "settle" after a few days. Keep writing and backlinking and you'll be fine.

I have another question... does it matter how many backlinks you do daily?..

it depends. if your article is fully SEO'ed, a few backlink will be ok. But I rather suggest you to have SEO'ed articles + more backlinks, the more the better (high PR backlink is better). It can ranked higher and even difficult for competitors to beat.

      hope that helps.
