Give Me Overwhelming Value, Honesty & Integrity EVERYTIME!

Hi Everyone

Just been looking at a thread in the product review forum about a contraversial product launch and feel compelled to say something up in here!

You know the business we are in is a people business. Its people who buy our products and services ... so they are vital.

I suggest it is far more sustainable a more long term beneficial to focus on offering your customers

1) OVERWHELMING VALUE - If you promise them your jacket give them your shirt and pants as well! OVERDELIVER EVERYTIME!

2) QUALITY - Make sure that everything you offer is the absolute highest quality

3) HONESTY & INTEGRITY - Want people to love you? Want people to stay subscribed to your list and buy from you. THEN BE HONEST AND OPERATE WITH INTEGRITY

Just applying these 3 points to your business can make you rich!

Okay rant over ... off for a cup of fine English tea ( I feel better now)

I agree. Long before the internet really took off, I was in sales selling electronic test equipment.

One of the best companies I represented had this maxim. "To give the customer more than they bought". In other words, "over deliver". Give the customer more performance than you have specified. Give the customer better value in the long term. Buying at the best price in the beginning is not the best value in the long term if the product is not reliable and costs more to maintain.

You can be honest and have the greatest integrity and give the person exactly what they ordered and expected or you can exceed a person's expectation and then you will earn far more respect and loyalty.

      Hi Mangozoom,

      I'm interested -

      1) OVERWHELMING VALUE - If you promise them your jacket give them your shirt and pants as well! OVERDELIVER EVERYTIME!

      2) QUALITY - Make sure that everything you offer is the absolute highest quality

      3) HONESTY & INTEGRITY - Want people to love you? Want people to stay subscribed to your list and buy from you. THEN BE HONEST AND OPERATE WITH INTEGRITY

Just applying these 3 points to your business can make you rich!
      Is this based on -

      a) doing this yourself and now that you're rich, you're sharing the method you used?

      or

      b) it's related to what you said about the review forum and the controversial product?

In order for me (or others) to contribute to the thread/discussion, it would help if you spelled out how you have made the connections and arrived at your conclusion.

For clarity, when you say -

I suggest it is far more sustainable a more long term beneficial to focus on offering your customers - (the three things listed above)
...on what basis are you making the suggestion?

      For example -

      1) what you've done yourself

      or

      2) what you have seen others do

      or

      3) what you'd prefer as a customer?

    Hi John,

I could't agree with you more, everything you have said here is true. I was taught to do business this way for one simple reason, It works.

I know that if i am buying a product from someone and they over deliver and I feel they are being honest with me I will for sure buy from that person again.

    Great tips for everyone John

      Hi Mangozoom,

What I'm getting at is this that what you have spelled out there is very close to the 'default' mode in which I operate my business.

But I'm raising a few questions, which are -

Is my default mode the right way? Have I double-checked? Are any of my assertions based on faulty assumptions or false logic? Why is it that so many (apparently) successful IMers manage to succeed with the opposite short-term approach?

See where I'm coming from? I'm not trying to catch anyone out. But if there is an underlying point, it's that if we're going to present certain approaches as 'the best for everyone', we need to provide other qualifying information about how we formed those conclusions - which can be seen from the questions I asked.

If anything, I'm just trying to widen the discussion from -

      a) OP makes a post

      b) everyone agrees

      to this -

      a) OP makes a point

      b) OP and everyone question the things that need questioning and draw logical conclusions

      c) everyone is wiser

    Okay Exrat

Like where you are coming from and agree with you.

What I would say that my comments are based on both my my approach in my own business and also my experience as a consumer.

I find that in the Niches I work in that I have such a good relationship with my contact base/list that my lists just keep growing and are extremely responsive.

I also appreciate dealing with good product owners who look after me. I am more inclined to trust the next thing they promote if they have giving me outstanding value with my initial purchases without any broken promises.
