Article Strategy - Submiting Half & Half?

I have read about this before and am really interested to see what results people have had with using this strategy that I found in another post by Mike Williams:

"Um....you should take half of your articles and FIRST put them on YOUR site.
Then take the other half and submit them to EA."

Any thoughts?

Advantages or disadvantages?

I am beginning to use that strategy because recently I posted 1 article to 50 different directories and made the front page of Google with 5 different article directories.

I had submitted the articles at separate times I probably could have enjoyed more time on the front page for that particular article. What I am doing now is submitting to a few and testing how they rank before I submit that article to another directory.

Some say to post on your site first then post on directories.. Personally I just post to directories..

I post a different article to EZA than I do the rest though.. Since some of them and not as strict I take full advantage of that..

All the articles on my websites are original.

I write for visitors first. Visitors make you money. search engines... My blog has just disapeared for misterious reason, and my site (who was on Google first page for the keyword "affiliate marketing" is now on page 2~ )

My suggestion: get original articles for your sites, and some others for submission.

Use EZA to help build up the authority of your site.

Once you have a good authority site I'd even say there is no need posting to EZA. Just post to yopur own site and you'll be able to acheive some good ranking without building someone else's content.

Use Dragon Naturally speaking and spot edit your article as you read it. The result can be submitted to EZA. I have websites that have the entire first page of google packed with my articles. My actual site is on page three. Doesn't matter, though, they find my site just fine.

I personally would never put as much effort into writing an article on EZA as I would when writing a piece of content for my site. In my opinion, the purpose of writing articles for EZA and other article directories is to build up backlinks to your site, increase your website's authority, and drive traffic by teasing readers.

Most of the articles that I submit EZA are quick rewrites which are only meant to gain the reader's click. That's not to say that I produce bad content but when I'm writing about the same thing over and over in a different way I don't think using rehased content on my site would be very useful.
