Can i make my own banners and link them to my Commission juction account ?

Hi guys,

Just added a new partner in my commission juction account a company that sells building tools, but for their links they dont have any really nice banners or banners that advertise the exact product that i want to sell so what i was thinking was can i get someone to design me some fresh banners to use on my site and get them to link to the product pages with my affiliate code.

Can i do this and is this what you guys do ??

    Hi Jim,

I'm no attorney, but see no problem with that. And sure, many of us online marketers do this.

In a nutshell, you will be selling for them and can use your own ebooks, articles, reports, graphics or whatever you like to do so, unless the seller says otherwise.

An example would be if the seller says you cannot use their company name, like "Disney" as a keyword in pay per click campaigns.

So when in doubt, ask the seller and run your promotional ideas before the company rep.

Other Internet marketers may know more about this. So stay tuned....

It's not a problem. Just change the image path to your path.

        yep..
i have done it many, many times.
just create the image by what ever means and ad your affiliate link to it. to me it is no different than creating a web site with a link to the publisher.

Just a slight "issue" to mention...

If you're creating a banner using artwork of the product or artwork that's related to the product, it's probably fine.

But some companies might object if you used, as an extreme example, scantily-clad models or other inappropriate images to advertise their product - especially if it was unclear on your site that it wasn't their banner. By the same token, be wary of using any misleading text.

You'll usually find restrictions in the affiliate network's TOS that cover such issues.

Ask your seller for permission, but since you are promoting his product I'm sure he would like a new relevant image for that purpose. Heck, he may even pay your graphic designer his fee.

You need to know for yourself how to make such links if you are not afraid of html.....

Quite simple, if ya know a little html code. Just put this code in a widget, post, or page.

      <ahref ="http://www.YourLink.com">
      <img src ="http://www.yourimagelocation.gif"/></a>

Note: your image must have a url address. And I arbitrarily showed it with a gif extension.
