Best Place To Go For Affiliate Link Cloaking?

I just found out about this. I have "ugly links" and would like to know the best site to get free cloaks.

I'm guessing this is safe too? Ideas?

Thanks,

A

If you are using WordPress just use the Pretty Links Plugin.

    It's free and it rocks!

Are you referring to cloaking, masking or URL redirection?

Guide to Link Cloaking, Masking, and Url Redirection

I would NEVER use a site that I don't personally OWN - what if that site goes away, what if they have an employee that is not to be trusted?

I haven't used it but I have heard good things about gocodes plugin (you didn't say if you are using wordpress...)

    Do have your own site?

If so you can create a folder that redirects straight to your affiliate link.

I just answered this in another post so I'll just copy that reply.

You just do a 301 redirect.
That can be done in the cPanel.

Just go to redirects and select 301, next select your URL and
create a subfolder called "recommends" or something.
Bellow you will then insert your affiliate link.

I use the GoCodes plug-in. I'm not sure if it does everything you are looking for or not.

Thanks guys! I was looking for something for my email marketing. I found it much easier to use the vendors links on their own page rather than just use the links that CB provides.

      Thanks,

  • Wil Mattos has a great product named Easy Redirect Script that is really good. It's not free but well worth the price.

Try bit.ly its easy to use. Or you can paste this on plain note pad <?php header( ‘Location: http://Insertyouraffiliatelinkhere.com’ ) ; ?> and save as Index.php then go over Filezilla and create a new folder under your product name and upload it. Best of Luck!

A few thousand marketers (including many Warriors) and others thought exactly that about tinyurl last year, until they were suddenly, unexpectedly insolvent and everyone's links did disappear overnight (on that occasion, everyone got lucky: they were rescued from insolvency by another company, and the links were salvaged).

Unnecessary dependence on third-party services of this nature makes absolutely no sense at all to someone building a business. It's not only the inconvenience if there's a problem with one of them, it's the loss of future income, too. Your "shortened links" won't all be in places you can access them and edit them. These things only matter when something goes wrong, but when it does, it's already too late to remedy them.
EXACTLY! & I am sure just what you need is another plug-in to slow your site down. Doing a 301 re-direct from a .php file in a folder on your site called 'recommends' or the like is almost as fast to create as using a plug-in and does not slow down your site with unneeded code.

I would just stick with a simple php redirect, instead of putting your fate in the hands of a third party service.

        EXACTLY!

I'd do a forum search on the most recommended link cloaking software products. It's a one-time investment and you never have to worry about replacing all of your cloaked links because some free third party service went offline. I use Renegade Cloaker without the cookie stuffing option.

By the way, any links in the emails you send to your list are forever. Someone opens up your email 6 months after you sent it b/c they are just getting around it... you don't want them clicking on a product or affiliate link that doesn't work anymore b/c the link cloaking service went belly-up.

Get your own site and use 301 redirect as a fellow warrior explained above. You can use free cloaking service like viralurl (vur.me) for facebook/ Twitter swipes

Or you can get on aweber and start building a list, aweber automatically cloaks links in emails you send to your subscribers.

My website is hosted by Host4Profit. H4P has a WEBePanel. There is an icon 'Redirect' and I use that redirect facility all these years. I find the WEBePanel more user-friendly than cPanel.
