Couple of Newbie Clickbank Questions

Hi all,

I'm just trying to branch out a bit into my affiliate marketing career and take a look at Clickbank. Presently, I have a few websites where I promote products for other merchants using Wordpress posts for each product. So what i'm doing is already a bit similar.

I was looking at a few Clickbank tutorials and many suggested to write an article on your topic and place your code into the resource box and throughout the text. I was disappointed to find out that a few article directories don't allow this and so i'm looking for other approaches. Are the succesful Clickbank advertisers purchasing their own domain names and promoting various products through the same domain? Or are most still writing targetted articles and submitting them to various directories? Also, are people writing articles submitting the same piece or making changes if submitting to more than 1 directory?

If I take a look at the Nutrition genre in the Clickbank Marketplace there are many different sub genres like nutrition for body builders, cholesteral dieting, constipation, etc. Would I just create a nutrition based domain name and write a different article for each or would the better approach be to make one single landing page with a targetted domain name and the clickbank code?

Thanks for any help/tips you can provide!

Well for me personaly what I like to do is choosing a very popular product on CB, find good keywords, buy a highly-related domain and build a SEO mini-site. I will often target geographically because there's so much competition. If you target the right keywords (i.e. easy to dominate on Google ) it can be a very effective way to promote the most popular Clickbank products.

But honestly people use many different methods successfully. By doing this I have the better results, you just have to find what suits you. Good luck!

Thanks makes sense! I guess i've never ventured away from Wordpress so the confusion of how/if people promote the same product through various posts has me a bit lost.

Do you by chance have any clickbank website examples?

Another things I was thinking of is combining Clickbank with Google Adsense (also do not know much about it). Do many websites do that now?

      Alexa,

Thank you very much for all of the information! It looks like I have some reading material but that is exactly what I was hoping to find. The list concept still confuses me but I'll try and figure it out.

      Thanks!

I'll admit I haven't read that entire thread yet, but I think I have a general idea. If I provide an example, can you tell me if I am on the right track, or if I need to go back and read? I just have to leave now but plan to pick the rest up later.

Using the dog collar example of Page 3 of the longer thread. Let's say I own the domain name dogcollar.com, and a clickbank product named "how to fit a dog collar" exists. On my website, I already have a dedicated post for this clickbank product along with a different article.

Let's say the keyword set "train a dog with a collar" is a good keyword set. Would I create a post on my dogcollar.com website, give it time to get indexed, and post the same post in the article directories? From there would I enter the link to my originall post promoting my clickbank product?

I'm hoping I have that right!

        Thanks!

          Hi Adam,

Pretty much right on... although I would spin the article you put on your blog before submitting to the article directories... you'll get more mileage out of your links.

And, since you get 2 links per article, you can have one link go directly to your clickbank product sales page (need to use a main url redirect for Ezinearticles), and one link to your blog article for the backlink juice (rotating the anchor text with the keyword and other closely related words).

For extra credit, you can bookmark your articles, and then submit your author RSS Feeds to some RSS Aggregator sites.

          Hope that helps.
