How do you turn a personal paypal account to a premier account?
what is the procedure?
- vertification? connected to bank accounts? or just a simple click of a settings button?

and from a personal account to a business account ? what is the procedure?

There should be a button in there to just upgrade. It may depend on country, but here in the US, I didn't have to show any proof of having a business or anything. At the time that I created a business account, the only difference was no more limits on my transactions and more fees.

I didn't upgrade, though. I just went and opened a business account. I still use my personal account for personal things, since you can have two accounts. You just need separate bank accounts but you should have your business banking separate from your personal banking anyway. And for the record, you don't have to spring for a "business" checking account, just open a regular checking account.

You simply open a premier or business account. You are allowed to have a personal and a premier or business. No need to upgrade the personal.

I am mainly looking to get premier for now

Are you saying it is better to open a Brand new one, for premier?

(and leave my old one as personal) ?

or i should convert my existing personal -> premier?

    Hi Entry,

You can just leave your personal account in paypal alone, and open another premier or bsuiness account. You can read the terms and conditions of having paypal account in their homepage. You can have one personal account, and either premier or business account. If you have a premier account, just press the upgrade to business account.

    Hope it helps...

Hmm I know I did this a few years ago, upgraded my personal to premier, but don't remember the exact steps. I just did it because someone wanted to pay me with his credit card and couldn't do it if I had a personal account. I'm sure there was some sort of verification involved, but I don't remember all the steps.

        seopeaks,

There is no option for you to downgrade...

        Votoshka,

        1. Go to PayPal:
Go to paypal homepage and log in your personal account.

Once you are in, click on "My Account".

        Then click on "Profile".

You should be able to see "Personal Business Information" in the first column.

Click on it and you will be able to see the "Upgrade" button on the next page.

        Hope this helps...

and what does the Bank configiration stuff do, when you get 2 small digits to a bank account? - what does this procedure do? activate the account?

Again, as techead said, it's better to be getting this info from PayPal either by phone or reading the TOS,

Having said that, the two small digits are money either deposited to your account or taken from your account just to verify you have an account. As I recall they made two deposits into mine one for a penny and one for a nickle. Then when I verified I had to say the amounts. This makes sure it's my account.

I think that is what i meant, what are the disadvantages of being unvertified? does being verfified give any extra features?

lol, just like in this thread you'll raise all kinds of red flags as to why you'd opt to NOT verify yourself as much as possible with them.

you'll come across as if you have something to hide; which really isn't a good place to be regarding legitimate business

Yes, this is true. PayPal will only allow a bank account to be registered to ONE PayPal account; (the same goes for CC's, as well).

Does being vertified give any extra features? or allow you to do anything that being unvertified restricts?
