Warrior Forum iPhone App?

Anyone ever thought developing an iPhone app for this awesome forum?

I can't help but think that it would help to increase viewership and make it more accessible to everyone on the go.

Any thoughts here my friends?

    I already use an iPhone app to read WF. It's simply called "Forums" and was only $1 or $2 when I purchased it from the App Store. You can add multiple forums and it does a pretty good job of pulling them into an iPhone format.

    Well worth a look... (sorry Android users - I'm sure there must be something similar on your format).

    I've noted that the reviews don't look great but I've not had a problem with it.

    I remember reading a thread about this recently. I'd definitely welcome an app to support my use of the Warrior Forum. I don't know exactly what functionality would be appropriate, but probably something more than just reading or replying.

    Something that would let me manage WSOs whilst on the move would be really useful, if that gives any suggestions to readers.

    Hey There,


    It's been suggested many times to Warrior Forum to install, the system tapatalk which would allow usage on Android, Blackberry (For me), iPhone and more. I'm still waiting to see whether it's installed, however Thomas (at wfs) told me that they had it on there to do list (or did).

    Thanks guys, just bought the TapaTalk for Iphone 4. Look forward to WF implementing the site on tapatalk as well. Got my vote!

      The problem is Safari only saves your password for 1-14 days and your constantly have to re-add it. Also there is a lot of scrolling & zooming because of the font sizes.

    sounds like a pointless idea.

    what would the app do that isn't already available from other apps or just using the phones web browser.

    Apps are not meant to be 'bookmarks' to websites even though many are just that.

    Any news on this Mods? Adding Tapatalk functionality to this forum would be a godsend.

    I don't understand how the people saying its not needed can actually justify that statement. It goes without saying it would help out a lot of mobile users, the tapatalk community is quite large, and other interent marketing forums have already caught on.

    In addition to making it easier to access on iPhones, having a WF specific app also presents a great branding and promotional opportunity for Allen. I'd say for maximum exposure and visibility, there should be an app specifically for iPads as well (there's a great opportunity to do more with the iPad app due to the increased screen resolution), and let's not forget an Android app, since it's the fastest growing smartphone OS that could conceivably overtake iOS at some point in the future.

      I'm an iPhone Developer and I'm thinking about making a special Warrior's Forum exclussive iPhone and iPad app.

      As I'm new to marketing I have not as much experience as you all guys do. However I know before making anything, I have to check if there are people that would pay or buy this app.

      If you can, please reply to this post. If I get 10 comments below, I will start planning the app with my team friends. We will be able to start on development in the end of the March I bet.

        There is no real point to make an exclusive app, there are plenty of great apps and in fact it would be better for us to support one we already use. TapaTalk is used by a lot of us here and is cross platform between Android and iOS. It makes using forums on a mobile device 1000.5x better experience.

        I would love to see Tapatalk support enabled. It is very easy to do.

            The reason an app would be valuable is because it would be "light" and use less data, thus loading more quickly and being easier to navigate on a small screen.

            I might give it a go, though I haven't looked too far into how this forum is structured. There's a lot of content here.

              That's what is great about Tapatalk, it runs really well on an iPhone. Two favorite forums (here and Canon Photography) don't use it which drives me bonkers.

                Yeah, and combined with the fact that this forum doesn't use RSS feeds (from what I can tell), means that the developer would have to build a parsing engine to rebuild the forum from scratch.

                If they enabled RSS here, I could build on very quickly, but without RSS, it's a much more complicated task.

                  Actually it would only take like 10 minutes. They just install the module for Tapatalk and it would work. There would be no need to adjust anything.

                  Photography On The Net is the forum, it isn't an official Canon forum, but it is 90% Canon users. I really one look at these two forums with any frequency. Everything else is like once every 6 months.

                    Every other forum I use has Tapatalk activated......C'mon WF, get with the program!

                    I like Tapatalk because it houses all of the forums I access, a one stop shop. Looking forward to WF being on it. Dont like having to open a browser for WF alone, and the writing is minute, so I have to constantly zoom.

      I don't think anything needs to be developed. The forums work fine on the iPhone & iPad, but Tapatalk support would make it work a lot better and avoid the need to re-enter your password every two weeks when Safari expires it.

      Tapatalk support for vBulletin is extremely easy to do and just need to load a module, it is just a choice the owners have to make (which I think they have made considering the lack of support of it).

    There are other threads about requests for a WF mobile app (or Tapatalk support). The topic comes up here and there for some time now. However we don't hear anything from the guys in charge (or they just don't want to do it).

      Actually they did reply a long time ago and don't feel like replying every time it does come up. They basically said something along the lines they don't want to compromise the security of the forum by using an insecure third party plugin.

    I actually installed an app last night. Go to the market place and type in warriro forum. A red logo with WF on it comes up and there it is "FORUM ACCESS AT YOUR FINGER TIPS"
    cant seem to find the login page thou???

    I've been using an iPhone app to read the WF. It simply referred to as "Forum", which is only $ 1 or $ 2, when I purchased from the App Store. You can add more than one forum, it is certainly not very well pull them to the iPhone format.I'd definitely welcome an app like this to support my use of the Warrior Forum.
