Off line tracking to the extreme
Thought I'd share what my Yellow Pages guy told me about one of his clients
She called him up asking to bring all their published phone books
She spent hours going through each ad in her niche jotting down notes
Then for each ad she ran she had a separate phone line so she could track her ads
She does the advertising for her husband who is a dentist. I can't remember the figure she spends on advertising each month, but it seemed like a lot to me, but she knows exactly how much each ad pays out in business.
Little mistake she made
The yellow pages here have a ppc (pay per call) program they're trying. She tried this but the prefix is not in her area and it seems those who call are aware of this. She's losing money because of this so if your phone company offers a similar deal be aware of the prefix and how it may affect your calls
