I'm going to be manually submitting articles instead of using
software that submits to thousands of sites at once.

Which high PR article directories are really worth concentrating
on for both seo & user views.

For Seo, i would still say Ezine, Articlebase, Goarticles, and Buzzle. There are many more but those are the main ones i use. The rank well in the search engines and are very popular among readers.

I only submit to ezinearticles, articlesbase and not forgetting my blogs.
