Join giveaway events, and you can submit your free report as a contributor.

Do a search in google, and you may be able to find people who are in your niche.

As a blogger, your best bet a building a decent amount of traffic quickly relies on one thing - Networking.

I dont mean your *Just* your typical networking either. While later on you may be offered the opportunity to do "Guest posts" for other bloggers (which gains you instant readers, and free exposure) initially your best bet hinges on a few things.

#1-Cater to your audience. Study social bookmarking sites; and if possible find sites social bookmarking sites SPECIFIC to your audience. When starting out, with the exception of huge sites like Digg, smaller niche specific social bookmarking sites will make it both *easier* to get on the front page; and easier to become an appreciated member of that community.

Tied in with that, on a lesser scale, is your demographics. Whatever your primary markets demographic is; double check your social bookmarking sites to look for a solid correlation. Just you Doubleclick adplanner of quantcast.com to get this information. It takes all of ten minutes.


#2. More networking. Find other bloggers in your niche (This will come in handy later on to, when doing the whole "guest post" and back scratching thing). What your going to want to do now though, is become an active member and commenter of these other folks blogs. Dont just shill your crap, or post link after link; But slipping one in when its relevant never hurts! Likewise, if the blog lets you have a profile or actually smiles upon (That is, has a box called "Your site link" next to the comment field) go for it.

#3. Before you write up your posts, do a little keyword research. No need to be to heavy on this; as most of the traffic your generating is going to come from other blogs, and social bookmarking sites (And if you do well with the social bookmarking sites, backlinks come naturally. Likewise, your readers will link to your stuff.)

*however* having the proper tags in all your articles, from day one, and being sure to include some low competition keywords from day one saves you time and effort later on. Once your blog does start ranking in the SERPS, you wont regret not being prepared - and realizing you missed great opportunitys with all of your old posts.

#4. After every post, hit up a site like http://pingler.com/ and ping your latest stuff.

#5. Twitter, RSS Feed, and Facebook fan page for your stuff. Find the appropriate plugins (There are free ones out there) so that your readers can instantly tweet about, repost, and submit your content to social bookmarking sites for you.


Ultimately, when starting something with a blog your main goal is to get some loyalty from your readers. They can do more marketing for you, than you can ever do for yourself.

Anyways, hope my advice didnt come off as more complicated than it is. Everything here is fairly cumulative. Just start out by finding some smaller, niche social bookmarking sites. Start rolling there.

Likewise, work with digg to (depending on your niche.) the trick to success with digg is to digg, and "friend" as many people as you can. After a week or so, you'll have several hundred friends - and recieve instant diggs for anything you submit. If its good, "Digg-esque" content that people like, those few diggs are enough to get it going, and very quickly you'll see your stuff climbing to - or close to - the front page.

I second the guest blogging idea. It's a much better way to spend your time, rather than just commenting on blogs (you never know if any of your comments are going to get approved, and your chances of approval go down if you include a link in your comment).

However, with guest blogging, you get to put a link in at the end (just like a resource box in article marketing), and you know that the readers are already interested in your topic. All you have to do is impress them with your guest post, and you're sure to pick up traffic and even some new loyal readers!

Another way to find targeted traffic is through forums related to your niche. If you have your link in your signature, and you become a valuable member of the forum (who posts genuine information, not just post padding), you can get good traffic that way, too.
