you know your market better than anyone here. Your asking for alot! Just follow the model of others who makes the same kind of music that you do.

Right now video is hot. If you aren't using WSHH, ILP, and Youtube you aren't going to get seen.

As a musician myself, I'd highly recommend a strong online AND offline strategy.

There are lots of great ideas all over this forum for online marketing. Poke around, I'm sure you'll find gold.

As far as offline, here are some ideas from my old playing days:
      • Start a contact list. Entice people to leave their email address with the band, then send a newsletter every so often announcing shows, new music downloads, reviews, albums and more. For that matter, a full-time musician friend of mine is using texts as his contact method, and says its just as effective as email - something to keep in mind.
      • Get radio airplay, and not just through the songs. If a DJ won't spin your stuff (and most won't, radio is pretty commercialized), find out what it costs to advertise. People listen to the radio for music, and if they hear yours and like it, it doesn't matter if its a full song in rotation or a sound bite accompanying a narrator saying "available now at..."
