How to create PayPal Redirect page?

I have noted a lot of marketers are using links to an intermediary page when sending a customer to PayPal.

Often it is a page that tells the customer that they will be redirected after paying, usually with some additional information like "unless PayPal is having issues" and "you will also receive an email with the download link, so don't worry" etc.

It seems as though these pages are php redirects of some sort as the code for the order button is usually something very simple like
Code:
a href='index.php?action=order&dc=
There is no code for the item or price etc so I assume this is all handled in the php code, so it would seem like a great way to cloak this information.

Normally this page will last four or five seconds and then redirect to PayPal.

I was wondering if anyone knows the code to create these pages? or if anyone knows of a service that offers this sort of setup.

Thanks
Phil

Phil, these pages are usually generated by payment scripts like RAP or a multitude of others. They are sending the purchase info to paypal and waiting for pAypal to feed back the acknoledgement.

Phil, I use Download Guard and Simple Member Pro for my transactions and they
handle the redirect and acceptance/verification of the orders.

I do own a script that will perform the function but I feel that if I gave you
a copy it would be doing you an injustice. Purchase Download Guard,
Simple Memebr Pro or Rapid Action Profits (RAP) Each will serve your needs.

If you choose other wise send me a PM an I will locate the script I have.

Oh, The rights I have to the script are mine. You will be able to use it on
one site but you will not be able to sell it or use it on another site unless
you purchase a the rights. Just wanted to make that clear.

    Have a Great Day!

      Ewww, that's gross

To the OP, Just out of curiosity why do you want to have a redirect page?

I mean, what's wrong with simply sending the user over to paypal?

    Thanks everyone for your input.

Wow, I am surprised that I have fallen so far "behind the curve" on this. I know for a fact that I have $7 Secrets somewhere on my hard drive but never bothered to use it. I guess I need to "blow the dust off" and get to work.

I am not so concerned about paying affiliates instantly (although that does have its appeal). I have always used a javascript encrypted generator to create my buttons for PayPal, but have noted more and more problems with customers not receiving their downloads. I am not sure if this is due to issues with PayPal's redirection to the download page or more and more newbies coming on board that do not understand how these things work and may be clicking away immediately after paying.

While nothing is 100% foulproof, it seems like using these types of scripts is definitely the way to go.

Any further suggestions, would be appreciated.

    Thanks again

Looks like we posted at the same time. As I mentioned above, I have been pretty happy with the encrypted code button generator. I suspect I have lost a few sales due to people sharing their links, but not a lot. Mostly it just seems like more and more people have been saying that they did not receive their downloads. Paypal issue or newbie issue? Who knows, but it seems that so many people immediately file a PayPal claim rather than try to work it out, that I wanted to do something to nip this problem quickly. I feel that the intermediary page would be helpful, plus I liked the idea of the fulfillment code being on another (hidden) page.

As I mentioned, I definitely seem to have fallen "behind the curve" but, now that I am looking into it, I think that many of these programs and services offer some great features above and beyond just a simple redirect. I have been looking at Rapid Action Profits and you may want to read their salespage to get an idea of the advantages.
