Continuity on One-Click Upsell?

INTERNET MARKETING

I believe I've heard that this is not allowed --- but I wanted to ask on here if anyone know the "rules" for doing this.

Is it possible to have continuity post-sale, as a one-click upsell, as long as very clear and its not sneaky and underhand?

  Are you cross-selling to another merchant by posting Credit Card information to them via API? If so, technically this is still allowed, however enjoy it while it lasts because IMO this is going to die in the near future. Cross-selling is huge in the adult industry and there are a couple large mainstream places that allow cross-sells in a very shady manner.
  
  It's shady anyway you look at it, however it's big business right now. Cross-selling has been put on blast via the media on shows like 60 Minutes and some of the big wigs in the government are already trying to pass legislation to rid cross-selling.

No, not cross selling to another merchant.

Just upselling

Like saying "Thanks for buying product XYZ -- would you care to add a subscription to _________ to your order at 9.97 per month?" then if they click YES then it adds it autoenrolls them.

  I use continuity programs with one click upsell sequences all the time. Usually it's tied into an integral part of the main product and I mention it multiple times in the main sales message.
  
  For example, I have a product that is websites for insurance agents to generate leads online for themselves. Part of the deal is that I will setup, host, and do the auto responder for them at $39/month.
  
  I mention this several times throughout the sales process and then it's the final upsell in a 3 tree. I have a video that references back to the main sales message and reiterates it's importance to them.
  
  Do this and you have nothing to worry about.

Yes this is possible if - as mentioned above - you are still the merchant for the continuity offer and aren't subscribing the customer up to someone else.

If you need "proof" that this is allowed, then know that Clickbank allow you to do this. If it wasn't legally allowed then they wouldn't allow vendors to do it.
