Does anyone make a decent amount from Amazon?

I'm playing with a couple of niche sites that send traffic to amazon.

Still in the early stages so I need some encouragement. Anyone on the forums doing well?

At 4% to 6% affiliate commissions, it will take a lot of sales to make a lot of money with Amazon...

I have made a bit with them, but only on selling hard products that I typically could not sell otherwise...

You can do very well with Amazon! And with the shopping season quickly approaching, now is a perfect time to start laying your foundation and build a site...or two....or ten!)

If you're in the early stages, hang in there! It takes time but I promise you that if you stay the course, you will be rewarded!

    Yes.

    Very well.

Myself, and a few of the kids on our mastermind are always sharing good niches from Amazon. We compete in close niches sometimes, and the competition is always good... so I would say they are taking a good chunk of change on Amazon products, cus I know I'm doin' good.

I've been doing pretty well off amazon, at least it brings in enough to pay rent. The niche sites I've found usually top out and are easier to make a few more than build 1 site up with hundreds of articles. I've found building many sites with 5-10 articles and running with the traffic work great.

Yep I do just fine - although I am not an affiliate

I sell books both on their kindle platform and the real things as well (actually comb-bound ones)

    Gotta love public domain!!!!

You know, this thing about low commissions comes up all the time - but comparing them against say Clickbank isn't like for like. I've recently been promoting items from a well-known UK department store alongside the Amazon ones...and their commission is only 4%. You only need 7 sales to get 6% on Amazon.com. So for physical products Amazon is really pretty good commission-wise. And if you promote the right things you'll get high conversion rates too.

Or you could put in the effort and become as successful as Warrior PaulaC who, along with her partner, is bringing in five figures a month from Amazon.

We average around 10k a month on Amazon. And I know of people making much more than that. It can be done.

Amazon converts extremely well. We were using CJ and Linkshare and similar affiliate networks prior to using Amazon and were making maybe a thousand a month if that. It was only when we started adding Amazon links that the money start to flow in.

      Hi Paula

What kind of time involvement and what volume of sites do you have to create that amount?

      All the best

We don't focus on volume anymore. We used to and had 20 websites and worked hard getting lots of content up and writing reviews. At one point we were adding 8 reviews a day. But we were getting burnt out so we sat back and took a look at what we were doing and realized that we didn't need to build a ton of sites to make it work because essentially most of our income was coming from only a handful of pages out of the thousands of pages we had on our site.

So now we only focus on 5 product reviews at a time until they start making money. Only then do we move on to the next 5.

Does a few hundred bucks every single month considered to be a decent amount?

What I did was I whipped out review pages to review the top Amazon products and generate traffic using free traffic generation strategies... I go in there and there to add reviews... And right now I'm able to generate a few hundred dollars every single month from those sites that I've created... LOL!

But if you are looking to promote physical products (and looking for a reliable affiliate program), sign up as an associate with Amazon.com... Good luck!

I've seen how hard people promote amazon products that I think if they just eCommerce themselves, they would do really well. On that note, and I've said it before, I wish these Amazon super affiliates would tell me what they are doing well with so I could just buy the items and dropship for them and pay them at least twice as much as Amazon does.

I'm doing great with Amazon on my Multipress Lite autoblogs. What I like about them is the conversion rate, much higher than the rest.

This is the path we have taken too. In addition to our 70+ SEO affiliate and adsense sites, we have our own online shoe store. Only a handful of our SEO and affiliate sites do *really* well, the others contribute a few dollars a day. The ecommerce store is where the money is.

On a similar note, if anyone is selling via Ebay, and is dedicated to customer service and a high feedback score, I know of a great drop shipper for womens fashion shoes (heels, boots, etc). They are a smaller operation, only interested in a few quality auction sellers. Send me a PM on this.

So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.
