Question For Domain & Wordpress Experts
Let's say I set up a fairly big website (using Wordpress) on a .co.uk domain, hosted in the UK. An affiliate site with product reviews/profiles, with the post template containing code that auto-populates each output page with affiliate links.
After a few months I'm getting traffic and making affiliate commisions, and decide I want to multiply this income. Can I do this by...
Registering .com.au (Australia), and .nz (New Zealand, and .com (US) domains and host in the same country. Using a wordpress plugin I would then share the posts in the database with these new international sites, so they have the same content. The only difference is that the affiliaite links will be promoting products in those countries for their respective markets.
Is this going to fall flat because of the duplicate content thing? Or is it a good way to get ranking well in other countries, and promoting products specifically for that country? I.e if I'm reviewing albums and but linking to a UK-based CD seller site, I'm not going to get as many conversions in Australia as if I was promoting an Aussie-based CD merchant?
