The Easiest Free Way to Get a Website Online (No Host Needed)

I think the default option is to have the xxxxxx.weebly.com. But they also offer to host your own domain.

You can either have the freebie using yourkeywordsite.weebly.com ... or you can purchase the premium and use weebly tools directly on that site. It's a bit like wordpress direct except EASIER!

I use if for customers in my own area doing some of what David Preston described. It gives you a free platform to impress the heck out of customers. At the same time... the quality makes conversion to a stand alone domain much easier to sell.

I am still trying to work out the SEO dynamics on it though. The Alexa rank shows 2206. I knew that had to be wrong. Checking the entire Weebly site, I note that Weebly itself is ranked at 2206. So obviously subdomains won't get ranking. This could be a major stumbling block if you need ranking and search engine support. This is why I never bother with page optimization at this first. Just use it to sell the customer. If they convert, then you can run full optimization tools for them.

All elements of the site are drag and drop. The premium is $24.95 per year... so they make a few bucks from the customer on that end. It is not near enough to cover the benefit you recieve though. This system should do very, very well.

My advise is, don't do that.

This service is great, but it don't beat the option as having your own website at your own host.

As long as we are talking business here, I do not recommend that you are putting your business into the hands of others.

What if they shut down or change their services?

What will happens to your business than?

This service is great to start out with, or testing a marked before you are spending to much money or time into it.

When your business starting to get serious, it is time to make sure you protect your business with 100% control over it.

I like Weebly a lot and offered it to my readers for their consideration in a past blog post; unfortunately, I found that uptime wasn't adequate and the site was down at various times for several hours. That was a couple months ago so maybe things have improved but it remains one of the potential disadvantages of some of free sites that have great features and functionality.
