If I Change my WP theme Would it Hurt Rankings?

Hey,

It is as simple as that..

Would changing my theme in Wordpress effect my SEO or backlinks I built to that specific page or URL.. or w.e ?

    There's always a chance it could hurt your rankings. Different themes will do different things with link structure, heading tags (H1, H2, H3, etc.), post information (tags, time/date, author, category), number of posts on the homepage, excerpts and countless other things. I have changed WordPress themes for a high-ranking site before and it did a little Google Dance before settling back down in more or less the same position.

    If you're doing it to try to improve conversions, I'd say give it a shot. However, I personally wouldn't switch themes simply because I wanted a different look.
