Online Author-Publisher Agreement

Hey Everyone,

I know that I need to discuss this question with a lawyer, but I figured I'd throw it out here and see if I could get any response.

To do a joint-venture with an author (or anyone for that matter) what kind of legal agreement do you need to put in place? Who should own the content? What kind of agreements do offline publishers (Random House, Knopf, etc) put in place.

Any feedback is great =)

Just in case anyone is interested I found an example of an author-publisher agreement from an editor:

    h**p://writecontent.com/Publishing_Tools/Author_Contract_/author_contract_.html

Seems pretty solid to me, but I'm not a lawyer by any stretch of the imagination.

NOTE: I posted the URL in that weird format because it says you've got to have at least 15 posts to post a URL.
