Facebook Fan Site...How To Start

so i been on facebook about a year as a personal site but now want to expand it to the fan page for my business. Is there any good sites that kinda walk you though the best way to set up and to make sure it stays biz and not connected (if at all) to your personal page?

If you really dont know how to start with that, try searching it on google. Just use proper keywords so that you can come up with a good answer. Just try browsing your facebook page, you'll see it there. It will take a few minutes to set up the page once you're there

Usually it will be connected to your personal page because you'll be set up as an admin or creator, you can make a dummy FB account and create the page under that account if you want to conceal your identity though.

No one will ever be able to connect you to the page you admin as it is completely hidden from public view.

Thanxk all for the help....any hints on how to attract fans? I will of course put up a badge on my main site to have them follow and such but do I market the fan site just like a blog site (bookmarks, web 2.0, articles etc)

We use Facebook PPC as our main source of fans. We now have over 9800 fans on one fan page and over 4200 on the other. As people become fans through the PPC campaign, it shows on their friends home feed and spreads virally as well.

I know that you can start by just inviting your friends on your personal page. Also, adding a fb link on your main site saying follow us on facebook can help you also.

Starting a page is really easy. Go to the help button at the bottom of the page and search "create page". FB will walk you through the rest. Once it's set up, posting is just like posting to your personal page.

Another great way to get fans is to "friend" your target clientele and then direct them to your fan page. Ask your friends now to "like" your fan page just to get you started. Just be sure you are professional with your posts on your personal page.

      Good Luck!

Get the facebook like button code when you create the fan page and stick it to your web site/blog for the business. Link the facebook business account with twitter, follow your potential clients using keywords (and a twitter follower adding software such as twadder) that should get you some followers. And use email import feature to mass invite business contacts/prospects to the fan page.
