Hi Warriors,

Do you notice a decrease in the number of views on your EzineArticles.com articles during weekends, Saturdays and Sundays?

I don't know, or it is just me? I have just written articles and got them approved in EzineArticles, there were regular number of views but when the weekends come I notice the number of views dwindle.

  • Nop.On the contrary mine spike on weekends. may its because of the niche - not really sure.
What kind of niches are you into?

  • Some of my articles touch on the topics of credit cards, though I have some articles covering the health and IM niches..

    • I also have observed a decrease in view on the weekends. About 20% reduction in views.
    • Most of the financial sites I have - credit cards, debt, etc. - tend to fall off over the weekend. These are my own sites, not articles on EZA and other places.

The traffic generally peaks early in the week and then slows down as the week progresses, with the weekends being lowest. This might be what you're seeing with credit card related articles, at least.

I suppose people feel bad after spending too much over the weekend and start the week thinking "how do I get out of debt/get more money/etc" but as the week goes on, they start planning for the next weekend's spend rather than paying off the previous one

  • Traffic on the internet is generally slower on weekends and some of the lack of viewers is niche related as well. Some of my ezine articles (I have a little over 4,000 there) die on the weekends and others pick up traffic depending on what the article is about.

Same with my websites... some do real well and others might as well just close for the weekend. It makes sense to build your IM business in such a way as you have niches that will complement each other in terms of traffic so you have a steady income each and every day.

    • Depends on the niche. Some niches in general have seen a reduced number
of views per article in the last 6 months.

There are various reasons for this that have been discussed in other threads
so I won't rehash them here.

Bottom line: Don't put all your eggs into EZA because they are just one part
      of a balanced marketing campaign.

  • I have actually found that my older articles from a year ago are still getting views and traffic to my website but the newer articles I have written just recently only seem to get 15 or 20 views if I am lucky (this is in their first month) so for me the views have slowed down overall not just weekends. Maybe I am just using the wrong keywords or EzineArticles is just getting more and more competitive.
  • Most of the sites have a decrease in traffic volume over the weekend and not just ezinearticles. I'm not sure which are the niches that won't decrease in traffic but perhaps it could be some events or entertainment sites.

    • Since I wrote my first article nearly a year ago on Ezine, I have noticed that the amount of views at the weekend decrease. I have written about a few specific niche products, but they all seem to suffer the Ezine weekend syndrome. Overall, I still get a fair bit of URL clicks & sales from my articles so that's ok.

  • Think of it as a corporate job. Most employees work for companies from 9-5 Monday thru Friday then they're off on the weekends. It's the same online. Most people are active during the weekdays.

Indeed ... but a lot of those "employees" are also known to internet marketers as "customers" and some of them are online a lot more at weekends than during the week when they're mostly working. I'm just saying ...
  • Once your traffic volume is of a sufficient amount, weekly patterns almost always emerge. As has been stated already, though, the pattern is a function of the niche...
  • I also realize that but do not know the exact reason. I also have another observation : even there is one simple proposition error, ezinearticle does not point out exactly that sentence, and expect you to find out yourself.
  • it might be due to increase in competition in that niche, not sure though
  • In my cases it is decreased but It is like still dependent on the niches .

The simple logic behind this if the people is going to less surfing and googling in the weekend , the traffic views is going to decreased .
  • it's niche dependent. some niches have more searches on the weekends, some have more during the week. i have a romantic niche that gets most of its traffic in the week leading up to valentines day....what i'm trying to say is that it depends on the niche :-)
  • Yes, I noticed that with my articles, too.The views quickly pick up starting Mondays, it's almost instantaneous!
  • I have seen this happening with a few of my niches however although there is a small decrease, you can still do the uploading for Saturday and Sundays on Mondays. The traffic picks up and I have seen some steady traffic. Actually I have seen the most views on a Tuesday.
  • I've just realized that the increase in article views might only be because these were listed in the "recently approved"category. After that, zilch, nil, zero. That would be a very disheartening story if that trend continues. I have yet to see if the article views will pick up even during the weekends.
