Facebook has a new feature called Facebook Places.

It can let burglars know when you're not home, or help stalkers stalk you.

If you want to opt out, here's how:

Do you mean the wrong part of the Warrior Forum?

Or that I shouldn't let Warriors know about a security issue in arguably the most popular Social Media Marketing site?

Facebook is seriously a big problem, why would anyone want to be on a networking site where absolutely anyone has access to what you are doing at any time?

Now, if you'll excuse me the tin foil on my head needs reshaping.

Having had a local Home Security business for the last 9 years ( NoBurglars.com ), and a Realtor for many years before that, I can assure you that the best of the burglars are very strategic, leaving little to random action.

It always happens to the other guy, though, so don't worry

By the way, Kim Commando agrees, and I agree with her that it's "especially dangerous for kids": Keep Facebook from broadcasting your location - Tips, Reviews and Advice on All Things Digital - The Kim Komando Radio Show

If I was a burglar than you can be damn sure I will be checking out who is at home or not, even so far as to check out their neighbours too. And now that I can do that in the safety of my own home without looking suspicious wheres the problem?

The aim of a burglar is to get in and get out as quickly as possible, if 2 minutes of planning on a social disease site like Facebook can tell me that my target will be out for 2 hours at a set time as well as the surrounding houses then I know that all I have to be worried about is the bikkies for Fido.

Traditional methods will always be used when you get there of course, like checking for security lights, dogs, alleyways in which you can skulk...
