"FR*EE"...Do People Really Think They're Beating SPAM Filters?

I just got another email with "FR*EE" in the subject line. Then the word "free" was used 4 times in the body copy. So was the "FR*EE" in the subject line because this person thought they were beating some sort of SPAM filter? If so, why revert to using "free" in the body copy?

Or was the "FR*EE" some weird attempt to capture attention? And before you say it worked in getting my attention...the only reason I even looked at the message was because of who it was from.

I like the ones that have SPAM in the subject line. Things like:

    [SPAM] Get viagra cheap.

    or

Here is a spam message for you...

I guess it just goes to show that even spammers have to start somewhere.

That might be your own spam filters doing that if you use your own domain for your email.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Yeah I seriously doubt a spammer will actually say things like that in his email.

I mean, yeah he's a spammer but still has a brain.
